Well, the Northeast area of the U.S. is getting our first blizzard today... My part of New Jersey is expecting 20-22 inches of snow by tomorrow morning. Should be fun.. :) Anyone else in the area expecting it? BTW, Canadian members please refrain from bragging about your monster snowfall amounts... I know you get A LOT, but we kept getting less than an inch in the last 4-5 storms.

And we're getting the same storm for sunday night. Put that on top of the 40cm we just got and things will get interesting.

We got our great blizzard back in 1978. Snow literally up to my ass and drifted as high as my head. Fortunately we lived in town back then and so got our street cleared -- by an armoured personnel carrier from the National Guard -- just a couple days later. That's not something I'd want to go through again...

Yeah.. and like the one in 96, and 2003 or was it 2004. Who knows, they were all bad. But 96 and 04 were fun as hell.

hmmm, i got a Blizzard near my house too.

first, there's about 6 to 10 inches of snow on the ground, i's up to the screen door!!!!

there has not been so much snow near my house since 1998!

and and on top of that, this is the day I went to the auto show!

but of course we had to take the Lemon Caravan, but that thing truched through the snow like a Hummer, but that's when all the bubba and hillbilly bobs come out, when the road is snow covered.

there was a pimp in a caddy weaving all over the road and a hiullbilly bob in a beat up truck w ith a beer keg, and he was also driving fast and he was all over the road, and he nearly hit the back of a jeep, because his wheels licked up, because he was going so fast over all the snow, and when you go so fast in the snow, you can't stop the thingk.

Yeah its pretty bad here (near Chicago) we got a good 12" on top of the half melted ice-snow from two weeks ago. Was a b*tch to snow blow. Now its just blowing, looks like its snowing, but its just the wind blowing all the snow around. There were some times today thatIi couldn't see my neighbors house across the street!! But I think its finally let up. But now that wind will keep it c-c-c-c-cold

how can +35 celsius be 95f, and -35 be -31f?

Farenheit, using math, is equal to 9/5 times celcius, + 32
therefore, using math, -40 celcius is also equal to -40 farenheit

As you guys probably wouldn't have guessed, the temperature in Vancouver is between 8C and 12C now. Just a little bit warmer than the rest of the country, by the looks of it. Warmer than most of the states, too. I wish it was colder, actually... this definitely doesn't seem natural :D

Hemhem...
Milwaukee got the worst of it. In 12 hours, 2 1/2 feet of snow plopped down from the sky, about 2 feet of which happened in 3 hours. It was a friggin blizzard, not to mention the terrible winds, which whipped the snow around and caused zero visibility quite often. The visibilty was so bad, that even when in daylight today in the car, when a blast of snow would come along, all sight was lost and we had to pull over. I woke up this morning and I saw NOTHING out my window, just white. That's how bad it was here.

This article relates to downtown, which got a foot overnight, but 10 miles north here in Cedarburg, we were just pummeled.

You out in the NE-don't **** around with this storm. It is BIG.

Lol, on the way home from a friend's house after a few beers I saw some guy in a '98 impreza doing some sliding through 2 corners and along the street... looked pretty cool, WRC like. At least he knew what he was doing and wasn't some ricer pretending to be a drift-champ.

I'm in Hamilton, not sure which of us got the worst of it, as in the lake effect, we ended up with about 40 cm and with the expected cold over the next week or so it sounds like it may be here for a while .... drive careful.

-35f is freaking cold, but -35c is like deathAs if -35f and -35c had a collosal difference between them when the only difference is 2 celcius. Two degrees wont cause "death" you idiot.

I don't know how does "damn thats cold" misleading, why would you ask me.

I said your quote was misleading and its right. There is a reason why I quoted what you said, you know. (probably not).

I got about 0" to 3 feet of snow, because of the snow drifts, but mainly about a foot or a little more. The wind is blowing quite strong so the snow is still going all over the place.

i have at least 2 feet at my house. my snowplow has created a 5 or 6 foot pile of snow at the end of the driveway that i am in the process of hollowing out. im using a controlled blaze to do this but its still really tireing cuz the fire really only makes the inside taller, and i will have to make the room deeper inside. last year i made one that could fit 3 people my size (5'10") inside sitting down. any suggestions on how i should make it eaier to hollow out?
