I guess the name says it all, but a one of a kind prototype fetched 3,000,000 at the Barrett-Jackson tonight. I'll look for pics.

good job, beat me to it. The cars sold immediately after this car went for $550,000. They were a matching pair of Corvettes. One a 1953 the other a 2003 both with matching colors and VIN#'s.

This amount also knocks a 1932 Hispanso Suiza J12 Binder off the record amount brought for a car at Barrett-Jackson at $2,000,000.

If anyone here has SPEED Channel, watch this now, you won't regret it.

Yes you do, this car was meant to be a cousin for the Vette but at the time the Vette was struggling in the sales category and they couldn't justify building another sports car if their current one was a flop. But as we can see, the Vette hung on.

You mean the "what the hey" Delahaye looking car that Boyd Coddington built. Such a beutiful car, I cant understand why anyone would ever sell it.

Well, the people buy on the way it looks, possibility of increase in the value, not for performance and ability to kick ass. kinda sad that it went for so cheap.

Yes he is, I think they are all quite well at what they do, they milk every last dollar they can get out of them.

I heard that a Ferrari 250Gto was sold for 12.5 mill on Barret-Jackson... do you know if this is true?

They said earlier today one was sold for that amount, but it wasn't at the Barrett-Jackson auction.

I think that is just a world record for the price of a car, I don't believe it was at barrett-jackson though.

A viewer e-mailed in after this discussion online and had gone to Guinness Book of World Records and they state an early model Bugatti Royale holds the record at $15,000,000 sold in early 1990.

There were some nice cars on Barret-Jackson, I saw on the site they auctioned a Jag XJ220, but the show was at a commercial for it so I didn't see what it went for. Shame too, I wonder how many othe rnice cars I missed because of commercials!

That Olds' interior looks beautiful. Can't say I like the outside but the interior is amazing.

Hate the colour but that doesnt really matter :D Very unique car .. wouldnt see myself spending that much money on one though but thats because im not really into that type of car. But I recon more prototypes should be sold .. its a pleasure to see them on the road knowing that it is unique. Viva la Prototypes :)

Download of the war for the 54 Olds. Don't know how good their server is, so it might be down every once in a while. Someone posted it on Vortex.
