Wow, not many people get the chance.
Mate rallies one, if you look up some of my event posts in multimedia you'll find pics and even some vid of it.
He blew the intercooler apart on the evening of the last event we did. He managed to bodge it together but the wastegate controller was iffy - it sounded as if he was carryign a box of chipmunks under the bonnet.
An AWESOME car :) What condition was the one you tried in ??

Probably the best I've driven was a 2002 Porsche 911 C2 Cab which was absolutely loaded to the tatas and just awesome to drive. I drive my dad's 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT pretty regularly too, which would probably be a close second.

I've driven a Corvette Z06 and several other "lesser" vette's, a Triumph TR6, a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro (3 speed manual - uck that thing wasn't fun to drive. It sure did look nice and sound awesome, though), several other newer camaros, a 1968 (I think it was a '68) Chevrolet Impala 4 door, a 93-ish (I can't remember the exact year) Chevy Impala SS, a lot of time in my folks pristine 1993 Volkswagen Passat GLS (VR6, 5 speed manual, black with 5-spoke later model corrado rims. It looks hawt!)

And of course my MR2.

Not meaning to sound really boring but have been lucky enough to drive a few tasty cars... not the best or most expensive but the most impressive was a Vauxhall (dont laugh at once) VX220, what a laugh, all the chicks look at you and you can do pretty much what you want to in the dry and it doesn't let you down... give me a gold medallion and "see me, I am Fabio" brilliant!!

I must submit a new one: a Pontiac G6 we use as a shuttle vehicle (at work). Don't laugh, I'm astounded at how good it is. It rides incredibly smoothly, it handles nicely, it has lots of grunt, and is comfortable inside. Sure, I haven't driven any Ferrari's or Audi's, but still, this car is pretty nice.

I don't think Kelsa is. He's already gotten past the egg-nog BS test.

For me, it's a motorcycle. Suzuki GSX-R600. Can't lay claim to maxing it out, though. I don't have the balls to open up a 9 second bike in between my legs.

my dad's Citroen Xsara (for a small round at a parking lot)
A Citroen C4 of the dealer.my dad had to get his Xsara repaired, so he got a brand spanking new C4 Berline to borrow :p he let me drive it for quite a while. i did 140 on the high way, while 100 is allowed, and kept going 140 when the speedlimit was 80 km/h :D my dad took it all the way up to 190km/h later :)

And no, i dont have a license, i am only 17. (from 18 you can start getting ur license here....)

For me there's a choice of 2 cars. Either the new Golf GTi, which I drove the day before I bought the Alfa, but I had to try one just to be sure. The other is the Range Rover Sport Supercharged. If you get a chance to drive one on country roads, DO!

The supercharger whine can be a bit annoying but it's the only car I've ever driven that genuinely blurred the scenery!!!

The Golf GTi was just perfect. Sadly I was told that I'd have to wait 3 months at least to get one and there were no discounts on offer at all. And I was offered a rubbish part exchange price on my old car :(

I don't know about the BEST...but my favorite was the '66 Mustang I learned stick on. 289 4bbl, glasspacks, manual trans, manual drum brakes, manual steering. Clutch was heavy too because there wasn't any hydraulic boost on it, either. It was a real man's car, and it's the car that first gave me an inkling of liking for bare-bones, el-strippo cars. It really took me back to the roots of motoring...

The Audi R8 I drove recently was a blast ! To call it the best though wouldn't be right. Every car has it's good points and it is hard to choose. My Suzi is great for smacking through the corners because of it's very direct steering. My dad's C5 is great for Autobahn cruising (though a bit boring). Other cars are good in other things..

My absolute best experience driving was in a old Civic taken from the wreckers for little though. Absolutely trashed it and literally nothing was left working. Not even the ashtray. Also the first car ever in which I rolled the roof and drifted. But though it is a great experience, it was one hell of a bad car. To me there is simply no choosing..

Mk4 R32 is probably the best sounding car I've driven. Though the new 3.6L Passats are pretty sick. Most expensive would be a W8 Phaeton that came in for service at the dealer. I've never been so scared driving something.

Then there was that Mk5 GTI with H&R coilovers, APR software and a 3" turboback. That was a blast to drive on my "test course." :)

sorry for flogging a dead horse but...
Aston Vantage V8(very briefly down the eastern fwy, quick car-but you pay for it)
Jag XK8 my08 (great sound, beautiful interior)
Jag XJR my07 (Insane space, ride quality second to none)
Jag XKR my02 (bit of a slug considering its 309kw, still nice though)
Volvo S80 V8 AWD(doesnt sound impressive until you drive one-232kw)
Volvo S60 R (shittest ride ever, goes hard though)
Volvo C30 T5 (not the greatest hot-hatch but still plenty of power and a very competent chassis, 162kw isnt too bad)
Falcon GT 05 (crappy plastic push button novelty start button which pissed me off, horn V8 note, poor manny trans)
BMW 330ci (unbelievable the amount of traction mid corner, slightly gutless topend, awesome car)
Rangey Sport S/C V8 (farken thing weighs 2.7tonnes yet it still manages to handle well due to air susp, accel is effecting dramaticly due to weight, looks the biz)
Porsche 944 (clapped out p.o.s., still went hard, insanely exy to keep on the road-somethin like 2g per year-every year)
My subi
Thats about it....if your wondering i work at a volvo/jag dealership. Ive been preety farken lucky to say the least
- Only car i've not driven at work is the current model XKR, managers are a little reluctant as you could imagine handing the keys over.

my sisters golf gti yesterday..:). a drop in quality but certainly faster than my own car. I say a drop in quality because wjile the golf has nice trim quality it has been a little over rated and perhaps im asking too much in relation to an A4. The GTi is a great car but haven driven one I dont think I would be getting my moneys wrth personally.

My S13 would have to be one of the "best" cars I've ever driven, The only thing that came close to being this much fun was a mates XR6 Ute.

Well, the Audi RS4 for obvious reasons.
The other three really good cars I've driven are the BMW M6, Porsche 996 C4S and the Mitsubishi Evo VIII FQ-MR 340. The Evo was a blast to drive just because of the way it defies the laws of gravity through corners. If you can get your hands on one, it's highly recommended by me.

Probably would either have to be '79 Mercedes 300SD or the '00 VW Passat my Dad had. Honorable mention to his '73 Mach 1 for how well it used the same basic chassis as my '67 and '68 Mustangs - 500lbs heavier but would run circles around them on any corner or straightaway.

Best one I've owned...probably the '67 Mustang I have now as far as looks, condition, ease of maintenance, value, ease of getting parts, etc.

I would have to say my favorite car I have ever driven is a tie between a Ferrari 575 that my neighbor owns, and a Shelby Cobra replica. The speeds you can take corners at in the ferrari is just crazy.

Thundering down the Montmelo race track in an M3 Saloon and a Z4M Coupé.

I personally prefered the straight six powered sportscar.

A friends clubman with a 620hp sr20det, weighs just under 700kg with driver, fastest, scariest track car I have ever driven. Acceleration is a blur, brakes are great and the slicks work incredibley compared to semis

1989 Nissan Micra 1.0 LS Special. My Alfa puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it but the Micra will always be the best car I have ever driven because it was my first. Good times.

I felt a little more secure in the GTS-t.

I dont know how secure i'd feel in a GTS-t with 300rwkw in a wet parking lot, or a GTR which is alteast AWD :p

lol, maybe if the GTS-t were stock I'd not worry.

But the GTR with a dyno proven 300kw atw.. was erm. pants browning.

407bhp, at the wheels not the crank, in an AWD stripped out GTR that wouldnt weigh much more than 1075/1100 kilos.

I'd like to see anyone clutch kick that at full boost and keep a straight face.

nop , I was at a home-warming-party, whatever you call that, and someone I knew but hadn't seen in a long time was in his "new " car, After displaying enthousiasm he said I could drive it, I pinched myself because I thought I was dreaming.
Spartan little car with vague dogleg gearbox. and oh THE NOISE/the music and the speed. The brilliance...
It was a blue one with some rally stickers on it , it wasn't a concours car . The nutter used it as a daily driver , and it didn't even have windshield wipers.
