Hey guys,
I am looking for some cool auto racing or classic auto web sites to check out. I need some cool links for my new web site LapLeader.Net (http://www.lapleader.net/). Of course Ultimatecarpage is one of the best and will be a link but I need some other cool ones to give people some variety. Thanks.

IS THIS SPAM ?

They are not GIVING away a Ferrari.
They are charging 30 pounds per ticket for 5,000 tickets.
So you have a 1 in 5000 chance of WINING if you send them their 30 quid.
NOT "give away" :(

Also, they SAY they give money to charity but in none of their pages do they say how much or what percentage. I would suggest if you DO want to do this then dont' imagine it's for charity. Reputable companies will ALWAYS up front say how much money or what percentage goes to the charity, how much money or percentage they retain. As neithe rare listed, it's safe to assume the worst :( Could be just 1 penny :(

IF, Ferrariman, you are connected with this company then 2 things.
1) We dont' want SPAM on UCP so remove it please
2) Can you tell us how much goes to charity please.

If not and this was just a "intersting" post, then it's worth considering in future if that is a sensible way to introduce yourself onto a new forum. It looks like SPAM and spam gest members banned here on UCP if it happens regularly.

Hoepfully not.

Yeah you shoudl.

Lets see, a £104,000 car - assuming list.
5000 tickets at £30 (150K)
10% to charity (15K)
That leaves him the tidy sum of £31,000 to pay for a simple web site and 'him' :)

Not bad, he does 3 auctions and earns enough to buy his OWN Ferrari 360 and the charity get enough to send one truck of goods to the middle east or Africa or the Pacific.

NOT a charitable act really is it.
I wish people like this woudl be more up front about their income so peopel don't get duped into thinking it's for charity. He is making DOUBLE what the charity are getting. THAT's not waht is tradationally called 'charity' in the UK is it ??

May I remind you that Exclusive Draws is not a charity, and to give 10% of ALL TICKET SALES to charity is extremely generous!!!

The reason for not giving more is because the car has to be bought, there are administrative costs, advertising costs and general maintenance of the site.

Please do not be derogatory about this site, because it actually does a lot of good, and raises huge amounts for charity!!!

Thank you!

but it still doesn't qualify as a cool autoweb site, which was the point of this thread i believe.

Actually, in my opinion this does qualify as a cool auto website Fly Girl!

I personally think that it is very cool that these awesome cars are being put up for the public to buy tickets for, and the fact that the number of tickets is strictly limited gives an absolutely incredible chance of winning the car!!!!!!

Pretty cool if you ask me!!

What is also pretty cool about it is that a huge 10% of all ticket sales go to Cancer Research UK!

Yep, just wish they were more OPEN about the 15 thousand to charity adn 31 thousand to self. Adninstration ? yeah, like ONE legal contract - that can be reused fro all auctions - and a web site ?
Sorry, I dont' want to put down what is being done as it IS good that SOME money is oing to cahrity.

BUT, the moral dilemma is still there.
Of that 30 pounds each person is giving how much might thay have given DIRECTLY to charity anyway ?
I'm guess a hell of a lot more than 3 POUNDS.

Good luck to him, but stop advertising it here.

You got your one shot, now drop it.
