There are some pretty crap rims on cars out there, but which one has the lamest? I'd say the xj220

I think i gotta agree with you there, for a supercar the XJ did have some lame looking rims especially after the F40's.

I agree with the XJ220, those rims spoil the car.
The Citroen C5 has some pretty lame rims and its a pretty hideous looking car as it is. :(

The rims on the Aston Martin DB7 3.2 were horrid .. but they fixed that in the 2nd revision.

I think wheel from either the jaguar or the aston, alltough to closed and too classic, they seem to fit the cars very well cause they have very linear forms. Very compact.
I like the wheels on both.
What I realy hate are the original wheels of the BMW M1!!!

It depends on which class of car you're talking about. For a WRC car, the Mitsubishi's Evo VI one's were very bad looking, though I expect they helped performance.
In stock, the olden Mercs were absolutely revolting. Take a look at the Sl 300 for example. Even in modern times MB STILL cannot get what it takes to look good in some of its cars.

This is "Which car has the lamest rims?" not "Which member has the lamest insults?"

The problem with rims is they are style items. That inevitably means that they 'age'.
Like Lava lamps. Icons of the 60s and then the lamest thing you coudl have for 30 odd years and suddenly back in again ( pimp my ride even put a set in some blonde bimbos car :) )
Some are designed with a purpose. Many solid rims were based on the Compomotive race/rally rims which were designed to PULL air through the narrow open edges. So back then they were looked on as the best and coolest to have. My A610 has a similar set as originals - but I've a nicer set of 5 spokes with slicsk I use on track :)
So please don't be TOO hard on some of these rims ( like the the XJ220 and early ASton/Jags :) )
10 years from now everyoen will look at Giovanni rims and talk about how bad they look.
Hell we're doing that about spinners ALREADY :)
EDIT: Managed to find pics hosted elsewhere ...

The XJ220's rims arnt that good, but they really do fit the car well, its about speed. If you put any other set of rims on it it would look stupid.
Karrmann i seriously cant belive you said that!!! :p
(just for reference, those ugly black wheels that hide under the hub-caps of any car lame enough to use hub-caps dont count as rims)

In my opinion, it's the rims on that Ford concept truck that looks thos 50's trucks. They are solid metal- no details, holes, or anything. Straight, solid metal rims.

hubcaps dont count as rims.
some of the ones posted are pretty ugly, but for a recent car, the citroen rims are simply terrible.
