Well, he probably doesnt have a car or is just jeleous.

The car is perfectly sufficient for what i want, I nice car to drive to tech, good economy, has style (even though it is a somewhat contriversial style, but i like it). The car originally cost me $800 the paint job cost 725 all up, (400ishUSD). I would much rather spending 20K on this that getting a Newish 20K car.

Something about the Exa i've never really liked, it just looks so 80's.

But if your happy with it, i am not one to ruin your fun. I am, afterall, still driving my Dad's Cherokee.......

well, the paint is worth $550, i got it for $175. Top Quality paint.

And i got all the body straightened, rust removed, sanded, primed, pained, the entire works, for 550. So the total is 725! The job looks amazing in real life! awesome quality!

It is the same dud that did my brothers car, so he basically does it for cost price

My bro's car...........http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11530

The wheels are great for free old school cheviots.

I'm on a HUGE budget, i gotta pay for my tech fees the next 6 years......eek........ so lowering is a wee way off yet:p

what's wrong with the eighties...I drive a 80's car.....though I don't ussually do this and should apologise...I was merely testing the water with that comment I made earlier...very sorry 85RX7..my bro drove the same car ín my school days...the turbo version...fun lots of fun..it's just that senior members can getaway with anything and its all okay..should myself or any juniourr member post something like that a lot of people will have a lot to say...Trust me I am 29y old already and have been driving for 12 years...so I'm not some twelve yr old who doesn;t know what he's talking about..I bet here's a lot of teens on this site who loves passing comments about ricers and the likes & this car & that car when they haven't even yet driven a car out of a driveway yet..
some people have gotten too carried away with the term rice..so you don't want to modify because you want reliability..or money is the problem.but you want your car to look good, so you buy a body kit for your car...if that makes you a stupid know nothing ricer then the guys at AMG and the 200K with the AMG kits on must be the biggst ricers of them all...

My engine is the turbo engine, but the turbo has been removed by the last owner, so it thill had the turbo bits. It is The red rocker cover version E15ET(rare type) that has a better computer.

A bodykit.......hell no......well, not for me anyway, there will be almost nothing that suits the lines. I'm satisfied with it at the moment, until i can re-turbo it and have some real fun. :D

Some people have them running mid 11's....i'll see what i can do once i can get insured with a turbo:p

The yellow looks dull in those pix, the camera doesnt like low light, plus it was raining. The yellow is actually very bright.

Yep, that light is probably 3-5 degrees out, it is getting fixed when the dude gets back from tonga, so about a week away.

The car used to be turbo, the last owner removed it.

There are no Turbo stickers on it right now. I am getting the factory 80's pinstripes and vinyls remade up for it tho, so there will be the a total of 3 factory turbo vinyls, I will re turbo the car as soom is I am able to get insured with a turbo car. You can't call that rice:P, there is no way that remaking an 80's car to look in good original order is rice.

I'm just saying this particular car has a rep for having obscene amounts of TURBO or OBRUT stickers on it.

It's not looking terrible.

Is the centre of the steering wheel meant to be blue? I guess if it is it was to match the lines on the seats. I like the car, I'm guessing it'll be really fun to drive when to put the turbo back on. How much insurance do you pay for something like that? I probably would have changed the steering wheel and gearlever but as I've said before, it's not my car.

The steering wheel is off my brothers car, a later model exa as pictured in this thread.......http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11530

I also have a new blue shifter in it too, but it doesnt wanna stay on so the original 1 is going back on soon.

The insurance for me is $421.88NZD Per year, that's with me being 18. So its not too much.

The car is classed as a high performace car ( even tho it is now non turbo and low compression   ) and in the high theft caregory (how can it be? there are hardly any around to get stolen in the first place...), so that also bumps it up a bit.

not having many available is why it's a high theft risk. An low-volume or limited edition car will be a higher theft risk

Your brother's car looks awesome in both sets of pictures...how come you ended up with parts of it in your motor? Do you think it would be an option for me to own something like that for a year? (I may have to wait a while before my mum replaces her car)

the only part of his car that is in my car now is the steering wheel.

I dont really understand what you are meaning by the last part of your post..........it is an option......how much money do you have to spend? why only for a year?

Well my mum will be looking to change her car at the same time I'll have been driving for about a year, probably for a new Mini - but until she does I'll be needing a car for around £2500 to get me around...however I predict that the situation will change and I'll be keeping whatever I choose to buy for quite a while longer.
