It sounds like Solihull's nice weather condition has inspired RangeRover designers with this cute name for their expected baby due to arrive next summer and shown in Detroit's motorshow.
Like many of new cars these days the Stormer has borrowed many of its parts from other makers as the engine version of Jaguar's supercharged 4.2-litre V8 driving through a six-speed ZF auto can be found onboard. This produces 400bhp at 6100rpm and 408lbf.ft at 3500rpm in Jag's XKR,but has been reconfigured for 4x4 extreme usage conditions.
Called Terrain Response, this is a whole-vehicle computer programme which governs the operation of the engine, gearbox, air suspension, drivetrain, traction control and brakes to best suit whatever conditions the Range Stormer is being asked to cope with. The driver takes charge of the system, using a six-position dial which includes:
Dynamic (for high speeds or winding tarmac roads);
Normal (for day-to-day driving);
Grass/gravel/snow (for slippery conditions);
Sand;
Deep ruts;
Rocks.
The terrain response is expected to also be found on the new Discovery.
It is on tarmac also that Range Stormer aims to be ahead of other softroaders powered by a price tag that will make it a tough player to beat.

*bump*

Well, Land Rover seems to have just taken their pretty nice (but overpriced in my opinion) Range ROver, redisigned the front a bit, given it a nice engine, and screwed the interior....
Overall I think it's pretty nice, but will people buy this with so many other lower priced sport SUVs? :(

It needs a few more settings.
Latte ( for pulling into the curb without scraping the rims of the unoffroad 35 profile tyres)
Launch ( for pulling out in front of everyone whilst dropping of the kids at school)
Mall ( for handling the heavy load of that credit card melting shopping outing)
Auto pilot ( for returning from a day at the beauty parlor so far out of it you just cant concentrate)
Diff lock ( something to show your friends cause you would never really take this in all that icky mud)

Yeah, Landrovers way of saying "hey look at us we can design completely crazy and impracticle things, we dont only make things that last forever!"
