One of an ever decreasing number of cars produced by Mercedes that give them any credability with me.

They need to stop faffing around with tat like the Vaneo, R Klasse and generally boring exec saloons and build more things like this.

Bah it still has a semi-auto auto-semi systrotrelocmulticambiocorsa thingy wahtever... can't manufacturers understand most drivers want a proper 6 speeder in their cars! Argh!

Your right, I guess that where DTM, Brabus and AMG step in to speed up the process;)

I think the Black Series is a good start.

a good racing car but mercedse push their luck by trying to sell it publicly at a whopping 600k+. I think it looks like a ugly squashed clk anyway.

Well it's a race car so driver involvement actually means very little. Being the fastest is what does matter actually.

And (disappointingly) judging by the satistics of Ferrari buyers people actually prefer to have no clutch pedals in their cars... :(

Statistics given to people before they buy the car...

Do you really think 90% of 599 GTB owners would actually still opt for an F1 gearbox if Ferrari had told all and sundry that they expected 90% of owners to spec a manual, instead of F1?

How much more are they charging for the optional paddle-shift system again?

Maybe not 90%, but I somewhat think that even if they didn't told future costumers those statistics more than 50% would still opt for the F1 gearbox. The thing is most people is a) lazy to change gears once they've been acostoumed to an automatic and b) they just want to show off telling friends they've got the gearbox of an F1 car.

How useless in the real world for the real driver are both of my points? Actually a lot probably. But then again I suppose that most expensive sportscars/supercar buyers aren't really drivers, and that most drivers can't really afford a massively expensive sportscars/supercar.
