why are most of the 1950's and early 60's midget cars so forgotten. some are world famous, like the Iso Isetta and the Goggomobil, but these are just the tip of the iceberg.i really hope that ucp and all other automtive websites can spend more attention to those in the future. After reading a book called "Dwergauto's" by J. de Lange i got pretty interested in these cars.however little information is to be found on the net ....i reallly think that is a pity, and that should change in the near future...

in the 80's a portuguese companie that used to do parts for other makes, decided to make their own car. The idea was not far from a Smart. But the way they've done it was too poor to be taken seriously. Instead of making a huge marketing investment and sell it good for a fair price, they decided to make it very cheap, with bad finishing and no real comfort.
The result was this ugly tiny...car?

Sado 550 # 2

As you can see in the first photo, heel and toe was out of question.
The engine was a 2 cylinder Daihatsu. Everything was pointing for a early end.

Sado 550s #3

Now this one is a real good Sado!
This one was fitted with an engine bike (R1 I guess) and had RWD. It is competing at the portuguese auto-test (is that how it is called?)championship.
