Do you know how to get the cord if you didn't get the letter.

the letter will come, they're sending the letter to everyone who has a registered xbox.

of course, if you didn't register yours online or on the phone you won't get one.

EDIT: 2,222nd post

:( I don't think I registered mine. Do you think the store where I got it will have something on it?

I think it is if your xbox was made after november 2003. They send it to you for free if you provide the serial number for an xbox from then or before. The numbers I mean are on the bottom of the xbox.

Yea, mine was made on 8-20-2002, so I should contact them about it.

Yeah. Email is probably the best way, and it should arrive about 2 weeks later. They are being very good about this (Microsoft's gaming division is plain amazing when it coems to helping customers.)

The reason I say this, is because one time my xbox overheated. It was still under warranty (it was a 3 year warranty). They pay for the ultra fast overnight shipping both ways, and fix it the day they get it. I had my xbox back better and faster then it was before it broke less then 4 days AFTER it broke!

Microsoft's gaming division is, like I said, amazing when you need help. The customer support is very useful, they fix it fast, and they refurbish it too if it still is under warranty (not the whole thing, but alot of the important parts)

just to check in, some say that new powercord just prevents sparks and fires, but the xbox will still get damaged cause of something bad with the wires of the PSU(power supply).

Its already been said. Anytime before Novmeber 2003. Kind of wierd, how there is a specific date.

It will be a batch problem from their supplier or a process problem in their cosntruction. So easily pinned down to a week number,

Speaking of which, this new cable is kind of bulky, and obnoxious. Looks like a hairdryer's cable w/ the test/reset button.

Yeah, they must do, even area to area, my mates have two different ones. One of them has a normal looking cable, and the other has one with a circuit breaker but it looks completely different to the one above
