Here is my shiny red 200SX.

Im scared of it:eek: the wheels lift up so much when you plant it in 1st that the steering wheel feels like theres nothing attached to it. Other then that its smooth and nice and fast and it has everything the datto didnt have such as

Air con
power steer
electric mirrors
electric windows
a turbo
a 5th gear

and a bunch of other stuff. Its only insured for danage to others and fire and theft. that costs $780 a year. the have full coverage it would be $3700 a year. I just cannot afford that.

Only modification to it is a POD filter (see in pic) but i wouldnt mind getting rid of it and putting the stock one back on.

Future mods include
:manifold/exhaust ($2500)
:wheels ($2000)
:a tasteful bodykit ($unknown)
:BOV (gf likes the noise it makes so she'll pay for it:confused: ) ($200)

its a good buy, by the look of it. are you taking this car to any track days?

Blue Supra
04-07-2005, 12:07 AM
track days?

not this month as im poor and need to pay off insurance and rego still. it runs on 95RON so premium or better only. costs me 117.9c a litre the other night:eek:

but yes it will get a few runs out at the track for sure:D

me likey. well done on scoring that beast :)

so long as you don't look like too much of a tool with that BOV :D
i'm saving for 2000 type R for use on track days, but my uni costs are crippling me, not sure i can afford it.
are you still going to use your datto as a beater? i mean 117c a litre....damn

You barely notice the pod filter, although still having the intake snorkel there is funny, but it'll make it easier to swap back to the standard intake.

Those suspension towers are just screaming for a strut brace though

Blue Supra

The datto is stying where its parked as it gave up the ghost the day before yesterday. wont go into it its a long story but im lucky i got the car that night. Its getting the new engine as soon as i can afford to have it built (2k)

petrol is going to be killer with a 65L tank:eek: im predicting $80+ a tank:(

$180 will get me a front strut brace, im keen on sway bars and stuff but like a said money is tight now:(

:Exige:

Still not as good as a Supra :( Looks pretty tidy though. Thought of buying a boost controller of some sort? Jam it up to 15psi .. should be good for about 260bhp (then you'll definatley need a BOV to replace the recirc) :) For the first time in my life, I think it could do with a bit of body kit .. nothing extreme though.

whiteballz

the stock kit isnt very attractive is it? lol.

nice car blue supra:)
now take care of it as it does like to spin the tires out of nowhere........even with a 50hp less engine(US spec 240sx, ka24de with 155bhp).
tho ya get the sr20det......i love my truck engine 240sx:), nothing like more torque.

a good place to get/ask info is www.nicoclub.com

Bliiiiingggg! Nah, its ok , I probably would too. :D
Be good to encase the pod in a shroud and get some cool air straight in to it.

Blue Supra

canberra members can PM me for a ride,

i intent to leave the rear without a spoiler, i like it that way too:) you got OWNED by the bowser man, i went to sydney today and 5c a litre more then here for the first time like EVER!

Ill be at the ROC. we should all hook up for lunch or something.

whiteballz
04-11-2005, 01:56 AM
you just hook up all the time there, there are set speccy points, so you tend to clump together if you know people :)

So the GF likes the Psssssssssssh:D

Nice set of wheels there RED;) I like them cars there is a limp purple one around here with chrome rims on it TRUST ME Don't go for the chrome rims:p. But it has no body kit but it does have a fried rice 6" chrome tip

fa22_raptor
04-12-2005, 11:23 PM
Nice buy! I think it's crying out for a bodykit, but don't bother changing the rims- they're fine. I'm considering an S15 200SX which also has the SR20DET :). Anyway, congrats, hope you have fun.

Blue Supra

first up is an exhaust and intercooler, then wheels and a kit. possibly considering a APS or CAPA kit for the motor. 245kw her we come!"D

Get a Superdragor Exhaust, makes all the difference, dont bother with the fancy assed Hks induction, my friend tried two of them and both are now sold for the standard box.
Boost controller is the way to go, my friend uses Apexi, but then you will need to run 97 ron. 1.0 bar boost is all you need, (14.7 psi) take out the Kat and put it in the garage for the next owner. You can get larger intercoolers also without cutting your front end up and looking like a chav drive.
Try and source some 300zx wheels, the uk ones are better than US having wider rubber at the rear (245 I think?) with 225 at the front.... still looks quite standard with more purpose.
If you go for bodykits Nismo do some quality ones.
Now do all that and it'll only cost you $50 aussie if you get it all from eBay... lol

Blue Supra
06-01-2005, 05:24 PM
nah its none of those:D

youll see.

ive seen the nismo kits and didnt like them, ill prolly go for a vertex kit. i want ROH Drift R's for my wheels. 18x8's.

ill need a few more mods before i can run 14psi. stock its only running about 7 -9? and its safe to go to 12psi. ill have to get stuck into the engine before i up the boost.

fpv_gtho
06-01-2005, 08:56 PM
As a safe bet, if your looking at upping the boost considerably, new injectors, valve springs and possibly a bigger fuel pump would probably complement it well. Go for a set of wheels and lower springs first though :p

SlickHolden
06-04-2005, 04:42 PM
And grab a credit car also for the new wheels you will need to replace every month:D

Blue Supra
06-04-2005, 05:48 PM
40 profile tyres.... theyre only 5 pro above whats on the datto...

however the width is probably whats going to make it expensive for rubber. Egg Nog has cheap cheap tyres in canada. he's gunna ship em to me:D

fpv_gtho
06-05-2005, 01:19 AM
yeah but how worn are they :p

if you wanted to get some hub adaptors engineered, my dads trying to flog off a set of 17x8 series 1 AU Tickford rims, with Bridgestone S-03's i think they are with pretty good tread for $400

fpv_gtho
06-05-2005, 04:45 AM
maybe heres an idea for the bodykit and wheels :p

SlickHolden

You need to come back to vic bluey(Red)
We have a tyre factory here they give you cheap as tyres, We got some stock 14" Rubber for the VB 185's $60 each On the car balance and all:D
I was going to get 4 interceptors15" and 215 tyres for $420

fpv_gtho
06-05-2005, 10:24 PM
I doubt a 14 inch rim would fit over his brakes, let alone look any good :p

yeah, i have some very good wet-weather yokohomas on the integra. very grippy even in the wet, apparently you can do 140 through a corner before they let go  not sure how they tested that tho

fpv_gtho
06-08-2005, 01:00 AM
well "corner" is pretty open book isnt it....but 140km/h through any sort of bend in the wet isnt bad any way you look at it

06-08-2005, 01:03 AM
it sounded almost like my chassis/diff would snap before the tyres do

clutch-monkey
06-08-2005, 01:07 AM
well the integra doesn't understeer anymore, like it did with the worn tires, so thats all good.......now to replace the cv joints and brakes:) minor details..

I just found out that our back tyres are only recomended for a top speed of no more then 140kph:( I only got to 120kph in 11 seconds:p
