I've said it before.

Bling Bling don't mean a thing! Class over Crass, as this car amply demostrates.

"Tread Carefully, but carry a Whopping Big stick".

Or, in this case, a DZ-302.

I've got that same Trig text book from my freshman year of college. It's like new, barely used and for sale, if anyone's interested. ;)

Is it a stock motor or was it worked? Final gear ratio?

stock except for hooker headers, differential is 3.73, and compression ratio is, get this....11 to 1!!!!

0-60 under 4
quarter is in 11's

The motor was totally rebuilt and repainted stock orange....so only 55 miles

Seems those tires have quite a bit to do with those numbers. Stock 302's ran 60 in just under 7 and the 1320 in about 14.5, so that's quite a bit of time with very little modification.

your right
traction was the enemy back then, we still have the original tires and wheels, and they sucked so bad, the car would just spin and spin until the tires would pop

seriously though, with this racing suspension and tires it has recorded those numbers

im in love with my garage now :D :p

I just got back from driving it for the first time.....and im still kinda shaking :p

It literally scared me to drive it, not only for its worth, but the sheer power was amazingly different compared to my dinky little ranger :p

Anyways, im not going to do an ownership test, seeing as it is my dad's, and it is parked right next to my Ranger which i already proved on the test.....

btw did you notice my carbon fiber taillights? Closet i could get to enzo :p jk

not without lowering the value of the car

Please explain.

Quiggs
04-16-2005, 04:11 PM
Please explain.

The car (at least in appearance) has been restored to showroom stock. Modifying that would lessen its collector value. Kinda like putting a Chevy 350 in a Ferrari 250 would ruin its value.

werty
04-16-2005, 04:29 PM
hum, perfect then, any chance you could get a six speed in there? :D
it ruins the value, because this car did not have that option back then. Thats why the hooker headers are considered "original" because they were available back then in 69.

But it all depends on what part you are modifying...here are the only things you can do and still be original and have huge car value

new nowaday Wheels and tires, but keep orinal if possible

paint can be changed, but original is preferble by hardcore collectors

not much else can change without huge devaluing

....but then again with the paint.....this car would probably sell at higher price as is, rather than its original yellow paint, because of the younger millionaires these days....for example at barrett jackson, my camaro wouldve sold for around $280-$300 thousand, beacuse they either dont know or dont care if the paint is changed.

Its a tricky concept

Cotterik

The muscle car market is really strange, especially in an auction environment like Barret-Jackson. One car, all original, may sell for $250,000; and the next car that's the same model/year but has lots of aftermarket parts may only sell for $75,000. Sometimes a modified car will outprice a low-mile, matching numbers, original car. Sometimes it won't. It's really about finding a buyer who wants your car.

We were barely even touching the gas pedal and shifting at 4000, we going to push it to 6500 next saturday :D :D and its going to fly

We havent pushed the car to its potential yet because we still have to break in the motor. Only has 170 miles
