Lets say UCP organized a track day and you all attended (that would be very cool BTW), what track would you pick for it and what car would you be driving?

I'd pick Road America or Lime Rock in the US. Silverstone or LeMans in europe. Car: F430 or Exige.

Silverstone: Ferrari 360 Modena

Nurburgring. Obviously.

Probably a Carrera Gt, or if i was being realistic, a BMW 328i.

I'd nick it from my Mother :p

I think the mountain section of Bathurst would really sort the men from the boys, as well as right-off about half of the cars when they smack the rear quarter against the concrete walls :p So that probably wouldnt be the best of tracks, plus you cant exactly just rent it out whenever you want.

A nice, fast, flowing track though is Phillip Island, so maybe everyone in Lotus 7 replica's going around that :p

Make it a One-Make Race Series, around the world.

We can go to each other's countries, race on the top circuits, drink in each others bars, and generally spread the good word of UCP!

.......Or we could not :P

i'd agree with clutch monkey and go the elfin MS8, turn in oversteer, mid corner oversteer and exit oversteer around whatever track is wide enough to deal with that

Good Track!

Its in Feilding!

HAS to be Bathurst, but only slightly ahead of Laguna Seca.

HAS to be Bathurst,

You may regret that if its in one of your personal cars :p

Over the whole 6km, theres only really 3 run off areas: the bottom of Conrod Straight, around the chase along Conrod and right up the top of the mountain just before you start coming down. The rest of the track is literally lined with concrete walls. One mistake and youre gooooone

It may surprise that the IDEA of a trackday is to stay ON the track adn to drive accordignly.

Hoepully not, equally hopefully NOT a surprise that IN A RACE the idea is to stay ON the track and drive accordignlyu. Too may drivers have too much moeny that they often forget that ii the desire to be 4th instead of 5th :)

Even the professionals crash though :p

And whats the point in trying to find your limits if your stuck doing 90% so you can keep the car off the walls.

After all that though, Bathurst WOULD be a good track to go to

Sebring and besides the exotics I'd want to drive the POS in my backyard. But on some nice H&R coils and a 3 liter VR with a big hair dryer attached to it.

Take the F2004 or the F430 around Nurburgring or the Fiorano test track.

Id pick a Koenigsegg on the Nurbururing.
If I wanted some handling fun, Ill choose the Exige on a twisties circuit
I might also bring a high tuned muscle car and drive it on the Indinaopolis speed way.

Yes I would pick Nurburgring too, although I would probably pick a 360 Challenge Stradale (nice race-ready car) or a BMW M3 GTR (very awesome car :))

On GT4 that track is sooo fun, although it is fairly long for each lap..... :o

Either the N-ring or sarthe, either is good.

I can't drive but if I could probably a elise (a little more realisticly) or unrealisticly a Saleen S7. :D

EDIT: Whats Bathhurst?

Officially called Mt Panorama, its a track open to the public during the year as a scenic route located about 150km west of Sydney. It holds the annual Bathurst 1000 for the V8 Supercars and in 2002 and 2003 held the Bathurst 24hr event

nice pictures but they dont really show the change in height of the track, those last few corners before conrod are quite steep in the track world. ive been watching videos from the 1987 - 1995 bathurst 1000 :D some great races there :)

Nor do they show the severe camber going through the corners. Having driven on the track, i reckon you coul wedge a car in between the inside concrete walls and the track. Luckily most people only clip the inside, and end up on the outside :p
