A car one immediately associates with Ascari. After his death all cars being sold to Ferrari almost guaranteed that Fangio, Castellotti and Collins would dominate the '56 season. The D50 is an F1 icon. Thanks for the shots, especially the color photo of Ascari.

This beauty was faster than a W196. If it was more reliable, seems there could be no title for Mercedes-Benz in 1955. It surely is an icon :)
