They are.

In order to sell to the Chinese market without excessive taxes being placed on your car, you must build them in the Peoples Republic.

VW, BMW, GM, Suzuki, and many more build cars there, some for export.

Hell, BMW builds three's in South Africa.

damn they sure know how to make some ugly cars, personally i dont like any of them at all, from the pics it looks like they reek of buld quality, well lack thereof anyway, but thats my opinion and its jsut a photo and they could be pretty well built when u seem them in real life, but enehu they just look so damn, erm = weird :|

I bet the Hongki would look a lot better in person. Its alright, not very original though.

The US automarket is about to become a lot more competitive if the chinese are involved! For example, have you guys ever shopped at harbor freight tools? If so, you know chinese products are decent and maybe even better than so-called domestic (really outsourced anyways) products and are 1/2 - 1/4 the price!

Just following the world's example, is there any creativity among japaneze or american car companies? just a modified version of what is already there? Can you tell a difference between a civic, camry, mazda 6? They all seem to be a tweaked version of each other...even the core specs are the same. The same goes with their american and even european counterparts. No one really seems to be innovative anymore...besides high end products.

dydzi
06-26-2005, 02:13 PM
why do they need creativity if they can copy good european cars that sells well

how are the core specs the same?

those cars you mentioned arnt even in the same class

anyone with half a brain and some research could come up with drastic differences between these models

if you're comparing something between pontiac and saturn then fine yeah they are pretty much the same but differentiation between brands are huge

IBrake4Rainbows
06-26-2005, 07:16 PM
The Camry and Corolla Share some Engines, and the Camry and 6 are, in fact, in the same class.

What MorePower Says makes sense; if the Chinese do eventually infiltrate the American market, it really does spell the end many car companies, not just american.

even Honda now imports some of it's cars into europe from China, obviously believing them to be up to the same standards as their japanese/british/us made cars.

Differentiation between some GM brands is not as huge as you think. Case in point: the New Combined Minivan that Pontiac, Chevrolet, Saturn and another subsidiary (I think it's Buick) all share the same basic componants, and add different wheels, options, trim and grille.
