I've see the term hair dressers car used a few times here on UCP. What car(s) do you consider fall into that category? What makes it a hair dressers car?

The early ones came stock around there. In the magazine Classic Motorsports, they dynoed a 1971 midget, that supposedly came with ~60 hp stock, but they got 42 out of it.

So does the UN, Although more with Land Cruisers.

Fleet cars are often associated with boring, middle management jobs.

eg: the Vauxhall Vectra is perfectly made for Dave from Sales.

Other than that, the only ones i can think of are Volvo Estates for Art dealers and second-hand furniature people.

Oh, and the infamous white van for tradies.

Pieter has allready said his hairdresser has one! :D
And anyway a TT is a car for posers, as it is nothing more than a A3 with a strange flashy body. Nothing sporty about those engines and dynamics.
And if it is for posers, it suits hairdresser's perfectly! ;)

lmao. didn't think anyone would be able to do that, so the answer would be yes, i do agree. But I think there will be certain ways you can make an Audi TT no hairdresser car, e.g putting different wheels on it and making it look more agressive.

My Girlfriend's hairdresser drives a Chimaera. I can't quite make my mind up about that. I mean, it's not that small, but it is a two seater soft top... Maybe it's a hairy chested hairdresser's car or something...*

1. hairdresser's car

Any two-seated sports car that is clearly aspirational in its ownership. For example a Mazda MX5 or a BMW Z3.

Omg! I can't believe they've got an MX5. That is such a hairdresser's car...

While I kinda agree on this one. Let's make stereotypes of all car drivers!

Civics: Ricer boy
Camaro: Hick
Anything Daewoo: Cheap ass
S2000: Asshole
Anything Ferrari: Selfish prick
H2: Soccer mom who gives a shit less about MPG.

The list goes on and on. Stereotypes are lame.

I have. The ULTIMATE hairdresser's car has to be a Nissan Figaro. Click here to see it (http://www.microcar.org/carspecs/nissanfigaro.html). One thing you must remember as you look at it is that it is NOT a classic. It was built in the 1990s, and is a rebodied Mk.2 Micra.
As for other stereotypes, anyone who drives a Volvo 440 either is a member of Greenpeace (if not PETA or ALF) or is over 65.
Any man who drives a BMW X5 is a drug dealer.
If someone drives a used Daewoo or Proton, they probably do not know off the top of their head what kind of car they own, let alone the engine capacity or reg number.
