What do you think of the new astra?

styling wise i think it looks very sporty, expecially compared to its predecessor but i dont know how it will stack up against the mazda 3, 2nd gen focus and 5th gen golf. it should be interesting though

Do you know what kind of engine they are using and also when they intend to release this in Aus?

I think it will be in aus near the end of the year. It has the 1.8L ectotec 4 cylinder engine, much the same as now. It also has a 2.0L turbo ecotec as well. Basically the same as now.

they should consider maybe putting in an interim engine between the 2, perhaps a very low boost 120kw 4. i mean like the mazda3 is going to have like a 112kw version above the standard 100kw 2.0L
