Ok, well im in my school library where there are 12 dell computers. Was gonna logon and read/post here, maybe do some hw if i got around to it :p. Anyway... when i was herelooking for a computer that somebody else had been to stupid to log out of (in...cog...nito) when i found one. I opened start and it became obvious that it wasnt a student, so i went into the control panle, then to accs and passes and... well... it was loged into Administrator. :D.

So obviously in this situation, im trying to creat a new, anonymous account name (the standart student ones are *first initial**middle initial**last name*) with more options than mine. Now the origional student made ones keep you fropm doing almost anything accept opening IE (literaly, you cant even enter program files O.O).

Well im not an idiot, i know what could happen if I did this and got caught, but oh well its the end of the year anyway. :)

The problem is that in order to get to teh window that lets you creat accounts you need an Admin password. Now seeing as i have to militious goals in teh long run, i see no need to risk life and limb to get the password. (by brother used worked here as a student and i know for a fact that he has his own pass, but hes not gonna give it to me sooo)....

ANyway (btw: this is windows 2000) i was wondering if anybody had any way to get around this without installing a password or phisicaly changing the password. :) thanks for any help :)

1. Don't do this, if they have a half-competent comp tech, he'll see a new account created, when it was accessed, what it did, etc. etc. DON'T DO THIS. It's not worth the risk.

2. But....if you really want to take the chance, you should download and install an invisible keylogger, then you get every password by anybody on that computer. (including the admin's).

There should be some awareness software that sees things like this. Abnormalities in a system. when you create 2000 accounts in the beginning of the year, then none more until next yuear, and all of a sudden, another admin pops up, the tech will be sure to see it. Any half-competent tech will see it and get you in trouble.

What's the worst that can happen? Maybe suspension? Is that bad enough?

BTW - the admin will have probably have a personal Password, not a generic one.

and there is nothing in my schools computer usage policy about unauthorized account creation, most of it deals with misuse of the internet, so it would kind of be a slap on the wrist....i guess

that and i am the comp tech guy for the yearbook and newspaper, i kinda have free reign over alot of computers and networks students arent allowed on, so i dont think it would be quite as harsh for me

but i suggest trying, its worth it - they wont get too mad, you might lose your computer privliges, but who monitors that?

My friend did this a few years ago. Put a keylogger and a fake virus on the computer. The admin came onto the computer, he got admin password with the keylogger, then made his own admin accounts. Later on he used the keylogger to get the teacher's password to the grading program, then downloaded the program. He still has the program so he can change the grades for anyone he wants :D. He later put porn on the schools homepage and got busted. He was going to get expelled but then showed the admins all the holes in the system, so they gave him 2 weeks out of school suspension.

Just for my information... how would they know it was me?
Even if they did have a key logger, and they could read me signing in to here and typing that, i did it on a different computer, and never typed anything personal.

How did he get the keylogger onto the computer?

Ok people this thread can be closed now. I talked to my brother, who told me the password btw :p but thats not why. the reason im not going to do it is some of the other things he told me. He told me that i would only be able to use that account on that one computer anyway, which isnt what i wanted. I origionaly intended for it to be created as an SPS account, not a PC account. If ever an admin came to the comp, he would see his name and whatever i made up, and delete it instantly. Not so shibby.

If your wondering further, what i wanted to do was use the library computer to creat an account on the servers down town. Now that i look at it from a higher point it seems somewhat ignorant. I would have if it were possible, becuase it would be me, and 20,000 other accounts, instead of me and 1 or 2 other accounts. :p.

I guess i could still do it, but i dont really have a reason. I wanted to do it so i could have the power, not so tha i could use it... and i wanted that to mean that i had admin power on every comp in the school under my account.

He had to put a project on the computer for a slideshow for the class, and put the key logger on at the same time.

But, even then, registry editing has to be enabled on the network, which means that they had an incredibly n00b computer tech. Unlikely. Are you sure your friend is telling the truth?

Yes he is. He did a local instal to the computer with the key logger/virus, which then caused the admin/tech to log onto the computer, so he recieved the admins password.

I noticed the same thing, we cant even DL without bypassing it (not very hard). But once you DL it you cant install it...s oooooo...

yeah, our computers are so tight, that if you shoved a lump of coal up ones ass for a week, it would come out a diamond.

BTW: do ferris bular lines work with computers? :p

haha no but that was f*ckin funny too :p

Thing is at our school, more or less all of the IT students know more about computers than the teachers do, so none of the staff have a clue how they do it, or even how to change it. This generation is too smart :D
