Blame Python and the Romans :)

So we've had makes, models., F1 drivers, rally drivers and race tracks.

But what about the women.
So to try to bring another thread together, we're going to have

Women drivers.
A-Z, surnames. Same rules blah abla blah
As the upper echelons have sadly lacked large numbers of women drivers then for this one it's ANY motorsport, any national race series but you get extra credits if internationally recognised.

Who's going to start ......

This is bound to be trouble, do you want their maiden names or their married names and if they start with different letter can we use her twice? (hope I will not be banned for obscene language :D )

The names they drove as.

On the double usage, I've got one for B that is also H.
As some people when they marry 'double-barrel' their names.
As soon as ANYONE can come up with an A, I can answer it.,........

That she was in Top-Gear does that make her qualify as a driver? Is she married to a Butler? I thought she had just one of those fancy double names.

Parents double-barrelled name, she's single :)

Friend raced against her in team endurance karts in the UK.
( So I've 5 other female drivers to go as Vicki was part of an all female team )

Web site gives her bio and she is currently racing in Ginetta championship.

but she also said to participate in a show on Britain's worst driver.

Doing Ginetta's I'll let her pass.

Yea, she IS mainly presenting.

But hey she's nice looking, knows her stuff and can drive like sh*t off a shovel.
A winning combo in a woman for me :)

You can use here

Maria Teresa Defilippis, who rode Maserati 250F's

and for the E I have
Liane Engeman, who was trying to fly high in Holland during the seventies

In that case we should also put in an honorable mention for Shirley Muldowney, after all she is known as "The First Lady of Racing". ;)

Sorry ? The drag racer ??
"First lady" would have to go to Mary Wheeler who was born in 1910 and later formed the British Women Racing Drivers Club ( and sadly passsed away last year.
We probably have the usual historical problem with you folks across the pond. Anything more than 50 years old is veteran/classic :)

ANYWAY, N is a bit of a sticky one and I'll admit I've resorted to www serach to get ....

Nesser, Jean fairly successful in NASCAR Winston Cup since 1998

Struggling or just lost interest ?

Öberg, Monica Scandinavian dragster

OK, it's O-umlaut, but unless anyone else can come up with an O, I'm taking my answer and awarding myself a bottle of whisky ( I may be gone a while as I consume it !! )

I think Pat Moss (later Carlsson) also is worth mentioning here.Haven't thought about the P yet, but if I find something before being off this forum for the next two weeks I'll let you know.
