Greetings,

Today we increased the file size limits for image attachments to exactly 1 mb. This was done to offer a good alternative to third party galleries. From now on we encourage you to post your images through our attachment system, and we will act stricter on the advertising of these third party galleries.

Thank you and enjoy your stay,

Wouter Melissen

Good news....

Anyways, change the POTD, its fake. This is the real one. Notice the contrast and the Lotus badge

YYEeeeeehaaaa thanks mate . i would have prefered a 750 kb limit over the 500 kb one for ages... 1 mb makes it even better :p thanks, no resizing for me anymore..... :)

I dunno....I just think the picture is to 'gloomy'...
Oh well, everyone to his own

But notice this, in the POTD version it doesn't have the Lotus badge at the top right, with 'change the rules'....
Now?

will save a lot of downsizing, unfortunately many of my Sony pics tend to be 1.1 mb or so. :)

that's cool, it won't save any scaling of media pics, for the most part, but it will allow them to be bigger and higher quality - THANK YOU!

Can we please up the movie file size for us who post them instead of pics ?
As the intial 2Mb was proposed based on 4 images per post took up 2Mb, then how about letting us put up 4MB movie clips now.

You'll get better resolution of all these great live rally race vids produced for you enjoyment :)

ah but the rationale used last time is that if we create our own movie of an event then we typically post that in one thread/post.
IF we take pictures at an event we typically post 4 pictures per post.
So crudely you can equate one movie file with 4 pictures.
Hence WHY the original file limit was reached and WHY the proposal that it should be increased.

Yes, I agree, but the point is, Wouter has already told us about how trying to increase the file size or space or something like that would've costed money. Now that he has already spent some more on increasing the file size capacity, I can imagine going up go 4MB with VIDEOS isn't going to be on his mind anytime soon.

Follow the logic given, spi.

A post with a video will be the same amount of space as a post with 4 pics from the same event.
