If the endurance races open before 50%(I don't remember when they open it has been so
long since I played GT4) you can get it easely.

Endurance races open when you have completed 25% of the game, and you can get the Formula GT in the Nuburgring 24h Endurance race.

As long as you can get into the 24 hours of the 'ring you can win it.

In the corners and in acceleration easily, in top speed no.

It is the fastest by far. But don't ever try to play the 'Ring with the F1. If you complete a lap without shunts you are the new Mansell. Put it on top gear and drive smoothly. You'll end up doing a much better time, that going in the reds.

Another exceptional car is the Suzuki GSXR-4. After the F1 it's the fastest around corners. With wings it even beats R8's. Nevertheless on the straights it gets blown away...

Some of the older Japanese LM cars will outrun the F1 car in a lap, but they do it with an extra 300hp or so. The Minolta Toyota is regarded as the fastest overall car.

The F1 car handles like it's on rails though.

Don't have tried yet. But it should be the escudo. On GT3 it reached 510 km with all hp plus special gearing. But performance varies from GT3 to GT4.
The F1 tops at 355. Even when you change gearing it doesn't change much.
The f1 is much more tricky in GT4. You have to be careful during corners. The rear end can bite at the limit. It's pretty involving. If you have a steering and pedals it's pure enjoyment. You play with throttle input and place it on corners.

I think you're wrong.
Only if we're talking about the test course. Even on the Le Mans with the big straight, the F1 makes amends in the corners.

The F1 car is nasty to drive on the Ring. It's too twitchy for a super-bumpy track.

And yes, the Minolta will hand the F1 car its ass on LeMans and the N-ring.

I reached 1300+km/h with the Escudo in GT3. In GT4 only around 400km/h. But in a TVR Cerbera Up to 475 km/h.

Well, the 'Ring is full of bumps. You don't see them, but when you play with the F1, you'll certainly feel them
When going 270+ (all the time :D ) the car will be uncontrollable.

The reason for this i believe is the minimal suspension travel. Even with max Ride height and soft set-up the problem is the same.

Quiggs

what are the specs on it?
~800hp, 600lb-ft, same weight range as the other LM cars of its day. I think it's only a 5 speed gearbox, but that doesn't seem to bother it much. It'll do 230-240 down the Mulsanne straight. And the big turbo kit will net 1100+hp. Handles very well.

The 1300km/h was with the Suzuki Escudo in GT3, it burned rubber until 370km/h an then it changed into 6th gear and the nose went up in about a 70 degrees and the speedometer just kept on going until you hited the wall on the test cicuit. :)

On day 694-700 you can buy used LM cars (787B, GT1 etc). They are painted black. They are gorgeous in black colour and no stickers. It should put you back about 7,000,000 cr

To be honest all of the LM prototypes of that kinda era (late 80s/early 90s) are pretty well matched. The Minolta, Sauber-Mercedes, Jaguar XJR-9, Nissan R89 and R92, Mazda 787B all have roughly the same power/weight/downforce. They can all also be boosted up to 1100+ bhp with the turbo upgrade. If you get any one of these cars there isn't gonna be much difference in their relative performance and laptimes.

In terms of quickest cars around a lap it's tough to beat the more recent prototype cars. The Bentley and the Audi R8 don't have the same power out of the box but with the turbo upgrades can be made almost as powerful. I think that they both have better balanced and controllable handling, so they're much easier to drive quickly than the older prototypes IMHO. :)

I've never tried with an LM prototype. I think the best I've made was 6:15 with Suzuki GSXR-4. I made an attempt with the F1, but I crashed it 2355778 times per lap.

I turned a 6:4x.xxx in a stock Abt Audi TT. That car's fun. Not blindingly fast, but it'll hold its own.

lightweight
06-03-2005, 02:19 PM
The thing that makes a car fun to drive is the ability to corner fast : not applying too much brakes before a corner, even better taking it flat out.
For me the best way to achieve this is take any car and do all the mods, but leave the engine stock. The wings help a lot, even though most cars look like crap with it. Even the 120 bhp Elise will go like hell and pass in the corners for fun even stock Saleens or stock Paganis.
Nevertheless when the straights arrive, you must run for cover

The best thing to do in a turn is to slow down and then floor it where it like drifts around the corner. It's so fun but only some cars can do that :o

Not a lot unfortunately! :o

I thought it would vary from race so did the Nurburgring 24hrs thinking that that would earn me a good 4-5% points at least but nope, only gave me about the same as all the other races from what I can see!

Have you done the rally events yet? The 'Easy' and 'Normal' sections are fairly straightforward and you get a reasonable amount of % for each one plus you only have to complete 2 races to win a new car. It's probs the easiest way to rack up the % and the cash. :)

Ok, thanks man!

To be honest I'm a little disappointed with the competitiveness of the F1 cars. I've just done the first race in the Formula GT tournament (thinking it would be the hardest, most challenging tournament in the game) and I won the race by over a lap from the nearest car! I'm hoping it's gonna get a bit harder on some of the trickier circuits. :(

You have to unlock the extreme races and there is a Formula World Championship 15-event Cup. If you go to settings before the race, you can tune the gear ratios and suspension and whatever else. You can't upgrade the car in any way or change tires because there is no Polyphony Digital Manufacturer. You can't bring it to GT Auto either to change oil and sh1t.

I'll try to remember: Blue, Red, Black/Silver, White, White/Purple, Green/Orange or Red/White, and I think there is a Green, Orange, and Blue/Silver one too. Once you reach 100% game completion, you get the all-black F1 car. There are probably like 8.
