I enjoy general photogrophy, but my stuff is mostly limited to urbanity. That's what you can expect of me in the future....

This is an alleyway just south of Wacker drive along lower Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Alleys are quite possibly the greatest photographic asset of Chicago, and the slender, faded elegance of the Roosevelt Building (back) tneds to lead a kind of gloomy, surreal connotation to the darker buildings below it. For those reasons (along with the urbanity) this is probably one of my most favourite photographs. Taken on June 11, Powershot A40.

Thanks for voting for me last week guys :) Here's this weeks entry, took a lot of work getting the shutter speed right and the light settings correct so that the light didnt reflect back off the water and blind the photo. THEN i had to try and try again to get it at the split second the droplet bounced off the water. Hope you like it:

- Aquatic Water Droplet

- This Morning

- My en-suite bathroom

- Canon Powershot A85

dont bother with the a95, all you're paying for is the flip out screen, its not worth the extra money. I use the A85 4 MP, and as u can see the results are great, i advise that you buy the powershot A85 definitely :)

bear in mind that you're only comparing within the Digital Rebel line

the step up from the 350 (Rebel XT) is the 20D, just like the step up from the 300 (Rebel) was the 10D.

It's blurred, which means you moved the camera while the lens was open. It would have been a great shot if you had a tripod. :)

SPHFerrari

wrong. i have never had a lens that closes

that would be the shutter your talking about, or, in the case of a point and shoot, the period of time that the sensor was recording the image.

I advise you leave that lot well alone, get yourself a Canon Ixus 40. Amazing quality, my mum bought one, and I haven't been able to put it down. I'll wait for the next comp to show you what I mean...

Pros for Ixus:
-Neat size
-Amazingly quick start up time
-Amazingly quick shutter time
-Gorgeous looker
-Pretty cheap now, less than 200 notes (Brit) off Amazon
-Great movies
-2 inch LCD screen
-4.1 megapixels

Cons:
-LCD can get scratched, but easily ironed out
-Everyone wants to nick it
