subject: a buddy of mine
location: barn in Flamborough, Ontario
date: March 31, 2005
camera: Canon 20D

now, before someone accuses me of editing it, hear me out on how i shot it:

-lots of other lights around
-camera on tripod, with remote cord shutter release
-flash hand-held
-shutter speed 0.6"
-aperture F/18
-ISO 1600

midway through the shutter opening i flashed the subject manually for the 'freeze frame'. the rest of the streaking is from the long exposure.

great photo speedracer :) i realy like the water effect on that. However, the rules state you cant use another website to host your photo, upload it to UCP and you wont be disqualified :)

I may enter this week i may not, dont know yet. See what i can find in my collection.

calm down guys, its all part of promoting the upload of photos to the UCP server rather than using rival hosting websites thats all. Wouters appeal, not ours, and it only takes 2 seconds so lets move back onto the subject of photos shall we?

that is not my first intention with it.when i want to make the Voting threads, i have to download and save the pictures uploaded elsewhere and then attach them myself via the ucp system...this costs valuable time, which i dont really have.if i just oblige everyone to attach their pictures it works very good too, doesnt it ?above all that, the pictures can only be seen by other ucp members.and i please the mods/wouter :)

edit:
Speedracer: how come the colours on your picture dont really look "real" ???water never looks completely white, leafs arent red and rock isnt green.furthermore the leaves that are still on the tree dont look green at all.since Connecticut is on the northern hemisphere autumn hasn't started for months.

has it occurred to you that this could be an early spring picture? With the leaves just starting to become green? To me the colours look completely natural, especially on an overcast sky.

its called a slow shutter speed and he blew out parts of the water, dead leafs can be redish, and its called moss.

some great photos this week guys! thanks for voting for me last week, and the week before.

ok after experimenting with waterdroplets, and taking some nice photos of nature and sunsets i decided to take some city shots, using slow shutter speeds on the M56 motorway, pretty happy with these too so i chose a shot and I'll enter it this week.
