In the tradition of the Prodrive 550 Millennio and 575 GTC....I present the Prodrive 612 GTC.

I made it by kitbashing the Revell Scaglietti kit with the Tamiya JGTC Skyline Calsonic R34. I cut the wide fenders and hood heat extractors fron the Skyline and grafted them to the 612 body...then molded and shaped it. Most all the parts are from the Skyline...interior had to be changed to left hand seating position and chassis was lengthened to fit the 612 wheelbase. Some parts were robbed from other kits and my parts box. Rear spoiler is from the Pennzoil Skyline kit, wheels are resin parts from Renaissance. Etched parts are a combo of RM of M, S27's Skyline set and Modeler's. Seat belts are Eduard. SMS carbon fiber was used on the body pieces and Modeler's CF was used on the chassis. Paint is Tamiya TS49 and their TS13 clear.

Thanks again all!

I doubt TamiyaCon would except this since the main focal point of the model is the body which is not theirs.

Don't really know the rules for that contest as I never cared much for the concept or format....Tamiya produces so few models in recent years that the variety at the contest is severely lacking. If I did enter that event I'd take my Carrera GT Coupe.

well, I would love to see their faces if you propose to enter this one, and exactly for the reason that they produce so few new models. Might be worth a try.

If you'll notice I put photo etched screw heads over them so they are now fasteners for the rear body work.

There is no engine in this one, that would have added another month to the making of it.

You can always sell a well built Ferrari model for a healthy sum and I probably will sell it some day but for now I like it on my shelf.:)

especially your 612 GTC since chances are that no one else will even think of a race-spec 612. Probably gonna sell it when ur shelves are full, eh.

It's a process of a lot of measurements...adding material....sanding off material etc. til finally everything looks right. Lot of patience.

Here's the build thread, you can get an idea from it to plan your steps.

Thanks!

The wing is from the Skyline JGTC car...which is quite a bit smaller than a 612 so imagine how big it is on the Skyline.
