Time to build the companion to my 612 GTC for a November model show which has a theme called, "Road and Track". The road car will be a 612 Stradale of my creation....so far the mission is:

Viper SRT-10 Hood, and another set of it's hood vents will be in the side cove behind the front wheel opening.

Front wheel opening will be made a bit smaller and body will be widened a smidge.

The rear 'spoiler' will be raised more like the 360 Stradale.

Front mini spoilers and side skirts may be extended some.

Enzo engine, wheels, steering wheel and seats will be used.

So far the color choice is Azzurro California.

In the pics you see the resizing of the hood etc.

that looks really promising, looking forward to seeing results :)

Thanks all!

Erm...no, I won't put the stripe, I have one but I saw a Maranello with a Stradale stripe on it and it didn't look very good. I think no stripe would look best with the 612. I like the 360 with stripe or without.

That bonnet makes it look nice and beefy!

Yeah, I'm trying to change the temper of the car, the hood definitely helps. This hood works because the bulge mimicks the side coves, and the angle of the vents works very well.

Got the Enzo engine fitted....had to relocate the engine mounts and cut the 612 tranny from it's block and glue it to the Enzo block. It doesn't have to be perfect as it will barely be seen once completed.

Cut the snorkles from the 612 and Enzo intakes then glued the 612 ones to the Enzo breather.

It's not fair, you're too good.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Continuing with the body work....I cut the hood vents from another Viper hood the grafted them into the side coves, added a strip of styrene inside the front wheel opening to enclose it some, added plastic on the nose in between the head lights because I want to bring all that section to one level and lengthen it a bit. Got the basic rear spoiler shape, alot of shaping to do there.

Looking good, but I get the feeling there may be a little too much venting.

well, enzo engine would need very much venting so i find it authentic

Think how much venting the Mercedes SLR has...eventhough it has the engine mufflers inside the front fenders it still designed for lots of air flow.

Paint then glue unless it's something like an engine block or similar part like that which is all one color.

wow, its amazing how much that viper hood looks like it was designed for the car...

keep up the great work...so far i like the look of this project even better than the racing version

...although im not sure about using that light blue...i say a deep metalic red

Dino Scuderia

Got a bit of shaping done...still a long way to go on the body work then I have to get the hood fitting tighter.

I have changed the rims to F430 rims from Maisto's new diecast, they look 'lighter' than the Enzo rims and have 5 lugs which look better on the car.

Dino Scuderia

Working on the front spoiler...decided to connect the two mini spoilers by attaching a solid piece of styrene to the bottom then molding them into the mini's. The hole in the center will be left open.

As you can see the hood fit needs tightening too.

Looking good, I'd like to make a 612. I guess Tamiya make a good kit, is this one of theirs?

Update on a long delayed project.

Reshaped side windows and painted body Pontiac Lucerne Blue.

When I get it clear coated and polished it will really enhance the color.

20" BBS Monolithic rims are available now in 1/24...I'll probably use those.
