no, so that other better games can keep the license.
i think PGR3 will still have ferraris as well as forza currently

I say yes because GT4 was suppoesd to be a library of car history and what is car history without Ferrari?

I'd like it too, but I'd also like Koenigsegg and Noble.

Wouldn't object to a crusher for some of the real heaps that you win at times...........:)

I agree, gran turismo should have all cars ever made. I'm sure some day in the future it will be maybe like GT6 or GT7.

i dont see the big thrill of having a 360 or any other ferrari on gt4, we read and see too much of ferraris every day, its boring. Id rather drive the hundreds of other cars.

who holds the license to lamborghini? i never see them in racing games. are they afraid they won't show their cars in a good light?

Not entirely sure but I know the Murcielago was in Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (if you can call that racing game that is!). :)

It'd be nice to see the upper-classmen of the exotic car industry but the damn licenses prohibit that. And Cotterik, I'm sure you wouldn't mind the chance to buy + drive a car like the Enzo or 250GT.

yeah its nice to be able to drive them in forza etc its a shame that GT4 missed out, it could have been the icing on the cake

I believe EA currently holds the license and MS dishes out cash for the use of those cars.

Whats all this talk about holding licenses and GT4 not being able too. Isn't is just that Polyphony Digital didn't wanna pay the amounts of money for obtaining the license that Ferrari or Lambo (or whoever) were asking for? Not just one game producer owns the liscense to produce their cars in a video game. Ferrari owns their own license and can sell it out to anyone who will pay the price. At least this is how i thought it worked i guess i could be wrong, can someone clear this up for me.

GT4 can definately afford it, but it probably has more to do w/ EA and the licensing issue.

Didn't the japanese version of GT3 have Diablo in it?

Prius

Gran Turismo will never have Lamborghinis, Ferraris or Porsches. They were planned, but due to licenceing issues, they could never put them in. That's the same reason why the CLK GTR was removed from 2 at the last minute.

I'd love to have them in, personally im getting sick of every god damned Japanese car ever concieved to get the nod whilst other great cars miss out for fickle reasons

It should have ALL cars! ALL

Why?

because it's the best simulation game engine ever made, so we can virtualy try the cars of our dreams! :)

thats what i think too, i wouldve figured that GT4 wouldve had them because it disappointed me when GT3 didnt have them but i though since everyone was saying GT4 was so much better that it would have at least one of those sorts.

GT4 basically sets the standard for auto simulators for me and to set the standard boldly, it shouldve at least had one other. like McLaren or Noble, that shouldve been no question.

Yes, there was a Lamborghini in GT3. It didn't have any Lamborghini badging, and never mentioned the Lamborghini name. It was only unlocked in the Japanese version of the game. Link to story (http://ps2.ign.com/articles/092/092673p1.html)

It is possible to get not only the Diablo, but a 996 Porsche GT3 (http://gtplanet.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1336) and 2 versions of the Lancia Stratos through Sharkport/MaxDrive game saves. All of these cars are hidden in GT3 game discs.

I just miss the Venturis and Vectors they had.but hey, they brought back the muscle cars for GT4,so they oculd very well have a crapload more cars[instead of 40 difffernet versions of a lancer]*and yes,i exagerated

But for GT5,they will ahve more space because of the PS3 so that hopefully means more cars.

F1_Master
07-12-2005, 03:59 PM
The Vectors and Venturis were great!

Lamborghini is rumored to be held by no one. EA no longer holds them and seems more concentrated on football, and Basketball.

It is rumored MS scooped up Ferrari and Porsche, but its not confirmed and just thought of since PGR3 has them.

McLaren is a different story. I think with McLaren, each of their cars has a seperate license, the F1, LM, and GTR Longtail used mostly. Really want to see PGR3 pull out with a F1 GT. :D That or I guess acquiring a GT model is too hard and too expensive.

Lamborghini seems to just let anyone who wants their cars for a hefty price.

Prius
07-12-2005, 04:01 PM
yes, I do miss the Vectors, because a, I love them and b, I can get good performance stock from them.

They handle like Crap though.

I had both in Gt2 (Granted, not the most amazing Test of them, but the physics machine was still there) and they just sucked, basically.

I was getting lapped by most of the other cars.

Prius
07-12-2005, 04:47 PM
well, I never really had problems with them (I drove them a lot, so i'm used to them)

but then again, in GT, I have driving skills competetive to the stigs.

why doesnt the GT makers just buy the license for those companies?

we should get together a petition letter or something for them to move towards buying the licenses for those. realistic?

F1_Master
07-14-2005, 06:47 PM
IF you want them that bad, then why not try and get people to send MONEY to them.

Lamborghini is open to everyone. Its just a hefty price.
Again, Ferrari and Porsche are rumored to be owned by MS. But we'll have to wait and see if any games have them.

Radoman
07-14-2005, 11:18 PM
I think it's absolutely retarded how GT4 doesn't have all the good cars. They should've gone after the good stuff first, and why didn't they include the f***ing corrado??

From what I've heard nobody completely owns any liscence, it's that Sony is too pussy to spend the cash on the good cars.

i think PGR3 will still have ferraris as well as forza currently

I'm about 100% sure that PGR3 will have Ferraris, as mid June PGR3 development guys were seen recording and photgraphing Art. Z's Ferrari F50 GT, which would lead me to believe that PGR3 will, in fact, have the almighty F50 GT...

Sony has already said that they will have Ferrari and Lamborghini in GT5. It is because FIAT has a new boss, and has given permission, and Volkswagen, which owns major shares in Audi, which owns Lamborghini, has given permission for Lamborghini's role in the game as well. There was supposed to be Lamborghini in both GT3 and GT4, but Volkswagen did not give permission.
