Each comp. starts Monday morning, ending Sunday at midnight.
The winner of the previous comp. will choose the car, track, tires, modifications of the new comp.
If the time submitted by someone is unreallistically fast it will be excluded.
You will PM your best time to me.
The one with the fastest time will be the winner.
If you have a time that you think will win, take a picture as proof. If you win you will have to present this photo as proof.
If I find out that any time is false, goes against any rules, or is done through any use of unfair play or cheatery, the user will be banned from the competition for one week and will be stripped of all their points.
Scoring goes like this:
1st place recieves 10 points.
2nd place get 8.
3rd gets 6.
4th gets 4.
5nd gets 2.
Everybody else recieves 1 point.
There will be a secret time that, under the rules, should be easy to obtain. This will be called the target time. If you meet the target time you will recieve an additional 1 point.

So Jack what'll rule no.2 be this week?

<sobs> Wow!!! This is probably the proudest moment of my life! </sobs> :D

Ok boys and girls, the theme for this weeks challenge is The Italian Job!!!

Arcade mode, Time trial, as per last week.

Course: Citta di Aria (normal)

Car: Mini Cooper S

Tyres: Sports soft

Quick tune: As much tuning as you like, TCS & ASM are also permitted

Fastest time wins!!!

I figured after last week when most of us had to go out and buy a pretty expensive racecar it wouldn't be fair for people to have to go out and spend a load of hard earned credits on another flashy car. This one is kept as cheap and cheerful as possible!

I hope this is to everyone's liking. If not then I'm open to suggestions as to making a better/fairer/more exciting challenge. :)

Let's stop posting our times from now on, it messed up the comp a little. BTW, I never officially submitted a time but I guess you took one of my posts :). I got down to about 6:19 but then I stopped caring.

so tunning as in as much as you can(ie turbo and engine ugprades?,suspension and wht not)

i may give this 1 a try:).

SIMPLETON

This challenge might be really, really close this time. Just like the MotorMate commercials say, this car does have whip-tastic handling. Be careful though in the very tight and narrow esses. The back end can easily slide around and possibly come out in front of you. If you lower the weight and raise the power you may genuinely want to consider the traction control. If you've got problems manuevering through the narrow streets you can try practicing with a fully modded Dodge Ram. They're two completely different vehicles, but the hugeness of the truck will make it much easier once you hop into the Mini.

We're in Arcade mode though, I don't think suspension upgrades etc feature. Correct me if I'm wrong though! I was just referring to the quick-tune feature (ie 20% more hp, 10% less weight). :)

It's the &^*#ing track, you can't get any traction... The car pulls better in 3rd gear than feathering it in 1st.

I did a few laps without TC... then i gave that up once tc was on i started improving steadily im down to a 1:50.906 but i have beat that by over 7/10s in first segment so sub 1:50 shouldnt be too hard

on the exit of the really fast left-right-left-right my ass hits the wall abit at the end, other than that anywhere else where this could happen just slows ya down before a straight. that lap where i did the 1:52ish wasnt hittin any walls. ill give it another go 2nite after the finalie of the OC

I probably scrubbed off too much time under braking, over that much distance and that many turns I suppose 6 seconds could be gained there.

I'd say that hitting the walls is allowed within reason. Treat it as though it were one of the license tests. The odd little scrape against the wall is permissable, but if you really give the wall a clout then abandon the lap.

I guess there's no way to prove how clean a person's lap is (short of videotaping the replay or something), so I guess it's all down to our good sportsmanship! Besides, if you deliberately cheated to win then you know you'd just be a d!ck anyway, so hopefully conscience will prevail! :)

If you're constantly hitting the wall your time won't be good anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Yeah but there is that point at the end of the straight that goes through the archways/castley bits, before the tight twisty bits start. Technically you could just not bother braking and hammer into the wall at the bottom and carry on, which would probably gain you a second or two. So please don't do that people! :)

07-12-2005, 12:55 PM
yeah about 1'42maybe on the fast sidse, but no more than 1'45 for sure, i think it was a fluke, i am NOT that good :o

ill try tonight hopefully i can get back dwon theree, but if not i will be a gracious loser, and congradualtions to whoever beats that, or in the event i dont get that fast again, whoever wins

So was that 1'45 the mini or a badly driven F1 car. Its hard to tell from your description.

i can only get it down to 1'48. It feels like it could go faster but it keeps sliding around and crashing.

i hate this car is has absolutely no "GO" from 0-4500 rpm!!! you have to keep the revs high around slow corners or you will die

1'42 is the craziest lap time, i seriously doubt that untill i see the pic. not trying to be a bastard, but i think the max time for this lap is gonna hover around 1'45.
btw i DID have the GT wheel, but it BROKE :( n theres not another one they could replace it with in the whole goddamn state, so im back to the shitty dual shock...
as of today im mid 1'49s! gotta keep at it
