actually the one up there is the M spec version. it has bigger higher rear spoiler/wing and had updated differencials. and yes you see the colour. it is gun metal, trully amazing colour LOL the yellow onw is cool heard the next skyline wil not be called the skyline anymore it will be called the NISSAN R35 GTR. skyline will be for the sedan and yes it would have 400hp after japans government stop the restriction. watch it thrash a ferrari, maybe maybe not.

Lets see....

1. The "M Spec" comes like that from the factory, so it is still considered stock
2. The new GTR, as you said, will lose the "Skyline" in its name, but will not be called an "R35". The "R" denoted the engine used, the RB26DETT. The RB engines have been discontinued, and the GTR will have a version of the VQ engine in the new Skyline and 350Z.
3. The power "restriction" wasn't really a restriction. It was just an agreement by all Japanese car makers, to stop any supercar war.

motorhead

hotflank
04-29-2003, 12:48 AM
cuz all the jap car makers have sutited their cars to the regulations and it's not going to be easy to convert their car plans for the new emissions

motorhead

its damn easy. there are no restrictions now thats means their cars which have a max of 280hp will all fly to at least 350. next wrx having 400 i think

hotflank
04-29-2003, 12:53 AM
wrx with 400...that car already accelrates in like 5 secs..how fast is it gonna be now?

re Japanese agreed power restrictions...

I reckon it has been a good thing for Japan's car industry, at least in the past. For sure they should now go for it with the power and produce some real factory-monsters.

But at least this restriction in the past has made them focus on other technology. Sure, in recent times they've crept over the agreed limit, but they've still devoted alot of research bucks to fuel-consumption, exhaust systems, turbocharging, suspension, packaging, pricing, and heaps of other good tech that makes American muscle-cars look neolithic: "Big engine in the front bit drives wheels at the back bit, go fast now!"

Though the Japanese could have a go at some better styling.

Then again, Pontiacs, Saturns and other US vehicles have been in the past even worse, hehehe...

Hooray for the rice boxes!

what the hell Nissan did to the R35? I don't like the looks and the new engine. I cried for many years waiting a chance to own a R32. Took me from 1995 to present to get one. Nissan should have brung the GTR to the States since 1989! red

OK I see your point. But he is new and probably didnt read the last post date. I have been known in the past for my limited tolerance for posts like this but after viewing some other sites it may take time for new members to get a feel for things here.
Skyline-22, try to be a little objective and constructive in your comments or you will come across as a fanboy and be treated as such. Not much of a welcome but hey, welcome anyway. :)

It's not the thread and if skyline_22 had posted pics of HIS one then it woudl have been fine. As it is he's learned - in a hard way - that inane comments aren't helpful to anyone and we look for content AND to watch the age of a thread before posting. So COUDL have been done with a simple,
"Hi, when posting please check threads arent' old and try to add some value. Welcome to UCP, hope you enjoy your time here"

Rockie went a wee bit OTT :)
