I'd say its real, cause there is header tubing on top of the engine to make some custom headers.

I say chop not just because of the angle of the engine but the shock absorber housing is not the same on both sides.

Real. The flash is apparent on both car and engine. The only thing that is dubious is the graininess of the engine compared to the sharpness of the car.

I have pics taken on my Canon with flash where only some flash is evident.

Line it up with a horizon line. The perspective of the engine isn't the same as it should be when lined up with the other sides of the car. I don't believe it.
