I take it you're trying to get the car back? I ran it through a few search engines and nothing. They may not have a website. Does Tom have their contact number? Or even a site?

my porsche

you have to pay $20 for that, and it doesnt include address or name, so basically id be paying $20 for a state name

911 VIN: 119122104

The VIN must be exactly 17 characters in length.

Thats what carfax told me...

unlikely.

More the case that carax dont' know sh!t about cars outside of America and older than 5 years :)

The international standrd for VINs asn't uised on 911s till after 1981

According to http://www.adelgigs.com/911vin%20numbers.shtml it's a 1969 911 T Coupé Karmann

Go tell carfax to learn their job :)

the car was sold to the guy's mechanic, then he sold it to a "wealthy man who reaces cars" could be an old duffer who goes on track a few times a year or a serious race i dont know,

but i have the mechanic's number and ill be calling him

thanks sauc, but my budget is about $10,000 or less for the actual car :( although i do like this one:

http://www.carsearch.com/709745.htm

im not ready to buy though, so maybe (hopefully) it will still be there in 6-7 months

and i havent called the mechanic yet, im going to tomorow, its my goal, because i may not even need to look for other cars, because i could get my dad's old one for in my range, and we know 17+ years of the history oif it (always a good thing)

right now im just praying (not literally, because i think its wrong to pray for material things :D ) that i will have enough money to get something that i want very badly :(

Im hoping to finally get around to calling the last person whos number i have in the trail of who has owned my dad's 1969 911 since he sold it, the guy is a mechanic, but he sold it, so im just going to ask for the current owner's contact

so once i get that and i call that guy, what should i ask him about the car? my goal is to buy it in a few months, so what things should i know about it other than general condition questions?

I would have thought the first question to ask would be 'how much would you $ell it for?'! ;)

With any second-hand car (especially classics) it's always a good sign if the owner(s) have kept all/most of the receipts from services, repairs, refurbs etc. It's all very well and good someone saying "it's been well serviced and has had $xxxx spent on it", but it's a LOT better if they can prove it with receipts and stamps from reputable service-centres and classic car specialists etc. It's not the end of the world if they don't, but it'll inspire a whole load of confidence if they do. :)

my porsche

so:
-would you be willing to sell?
-how much would you sell for?
-have you had an services or repairs done?
-if so where/how much did you spend?
-what condition is the car in?
-would you mind trailoring it 1,500 miles from atlanta to houston so i dont have to get off of my lazy ass or pay $1,000?

You got it all wrong. This is what you will say, word for word.

"Whaddup playa, you gotta car that I need, and I ain't comin' here to play games, so don't front. I'll give you 15-large for the car, and you're wife. Have a nice day, you sonuvab..ch."

· What Condition is the car in currently?
· Have you modified it in any way?
· How many miles are on the car?
· Has it been wrecked since you’ve owned it?
· Have you had any services done to the car?
· If so, where they at a specialist? and do you have reciepts?
· Would you be willing to sell in roughly 6 months?

thats what i have currently, my dad is going to help me think of more soon, then im going to call, finally worked up the nerve, i HATE talking to random people over the phone :p
