what would you say is the best car to buy under 5k. Im gona buy it used, so what do you think?

240 sx
Mazda 4x-7
Audi a4, hard to find under 5k.

5k as in £ or $. As you said 240sx i think your probably taking about $5000. From them 3 I would go for a RX-7 but if the stories about the wankel engine are true then it is abit of a gamble buying it as a first car. I dont think you will find a decent a4 for your price range. You might as well buy a 240 they are reliable, quick and fun to drive.

i'd tell you a 240sx, but no get something like a civic, i don't want another 240sx to go to nissan heaven, first learn to drive then think about a 240sx cause believe me, those tend to go sideways with a stock engine.

but i gotta say the 240sx would be my choice, if it was taken care of it could last long(some have turbo'd it with over 200k with no major fixing).

i gave way to oncoming traffic then turned onto a street and i found i was facing a ditch. no warning or gradual loss of traction the rear just shifted really suddenly and i was still learning to drive :o so i over corrected and smacked the rear axle against the gutter :( i was driving normally and had good tyres but the VN has a really light rear end, low down torque and a senstive accelerator pedal, not the ideal learner drivers tool :)
