Welcome Ariel, have you ever seen Sabra (Autocars Co. Ltd.) brochures offered by vendors? AFAIK they were the only cars built in Israel, utilizing fiberglass bodies and Triumph or Ford Kent engines and drivetains. I ask because it's little known and one of the makes not represented in UCP archives. Sales materials would be an interesting addition here. :)

To the collectors like you and Edward: how do you store and catalogue your collections? Do you display them any particular way?

Sabra also built Renaults(?) under license. More facts would be appreciated, the only thing I know about their sportscars is that they had yokes instead of steering wheels.

Hi csl, i know about the israeli sabre & susita, but didnt see any real brochures of them here, just some susita brochures someone posted on the israeli classic cars forum, i attached them to the message, those are not my pics.

About the collection, i dont have really big collection because not all manufactors sell their models here and also i try to collect sport and luxury brochures that i like, not everything that comes out, so i store some in the closet and some on my bookshelf so i can take them from time to time

I didn't know that... though an arrangement with Renault makes sense. The small trucks pop up for sale about as often as the sportscar,
so numbers must've been small. I've only seen one Susita, ever.

Thanks for those images, Ariel.

Hi,
I have more than (or about) 20000 copies, I think! Because some of them are sing sheets or folders.
In my collection, store them are not easy! But the weather in Beijing is often dry - that is good for brochures! A big problem is those brochures are many kinds of size, most are A4, and B5, etc. But USA brochures are different sizes! I put most of them in small paper boxes - that is easy to read and move. Also I put many old brochures in plastic bags - they can avoid the sunshine and wind!
Can you understand me?
Regards,
Ed

Dongfeng Citroen’s second plant started to construct Oct. 2006 and the designed production is 150,000 units for first phase. This Nov.17 the first C5 Citroen car rolled of line of the new plant. According to the joint venture, localized C5 will be powered by a 2.3L VTCS engine and Tiptronic transmission. From the comparision with competitors and the pictures released by the joint venture. Styling of C5 is attractive and the price will be an last key issue for the car. reasonable specification and price will help the new standard car make a good start in the booming auto market.

Standart car segment is the most profitable segment in China. International automakers all put great effort in this segment with their best products. Honda's Accord, Toyota's Camry and Nissan's Teana is the most competitive Japanese products. Passat, Magoton from Volkswagen also have good performance. PSA has no product in this segment in China so far, and the current compact models are struggling to survive. It's interesting to see the coming performance of C5 in China. Anyhow it will be a good lesson for those doing marketing in China auto market.

Dongfeng Citroen one of the earliest joint venture in China but its market porformance is just ok. Compared with automakers such as Volkswagen, GM and those Japanese automakers, PSA's performance is really not good. Chinese customers always complian the interior and parts price of French cars. If PSA wants the second plant can run by its fully production, firstly it has to solve the problems of service and spare parts high prices, and then try to improve the quality of its cars' interior. If it does not know what to do, why not to see the cars by Volkswagen?

It is a good design brochure, some good photos, more than 30 pages, very good for collection!

Guangzhou Automobile, the Chinese partner of Honda, Toyota and Fiat, has introduced the Trumpchi, a midrange sedan that is the first car to be sold in China under the company's own GAC brand.

Based on the old Alfa Romeo 166 sedan, the Trumpchi is slated to go on sale in March, priced between $18,500 and $28,500, which will position it near the top of Chinese domestic brands. In that price category, it also will compete against the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry, both of which are assembled in China by GAC joint ventures with the respective Japanese partners.

Initially, the Trumpchi will be fitted with a Fiat/Alfa 2.0 Twinspark four-cylinder engine, rated at 148 horsepower and 135 pound-feet of torque, and equipped with either a five-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Eventually, the car also will be offered with a smaller 1.8-liter engine.

GAC, which also is in the process of setting up another joint venture with Japan's Mitsubishi Motors, has an ambitious expansion program designed to lift its annual production capacity in China to 3 million vehicles by 2015, while nearly tripling its revenue during the same period to $60 billion.

In my opinion, a brochure must have photos, colours and technical data about the car. So, that book I got from NMG dealer is only a pictoral Book. But I also think it is about MG6 - because there are many photos of the car on every pages!

Trying to tap in the seemingly ever-expanding Chinese market with more models and new technologies, American manufacturer Ford announced today the local launch of the new Mondeo sedan, packed with all the latest EcoBoost GTDi engine and PowerShift transmission.
The new Mondeo will sell in China starting from RMB 169,800 ($ 25,849) and all the way to RMB 252,800 ($ 38,484). It will be available in no less than eight versions, starting with the 2.0L GTDi240 GhiaX and ending with the 2.0L MT Core.
At the heart of the new Mondeo lineup in China though remains the 2.0l EcoBoost GTDi, designed to develop 236 hp at 6,000rpm and peak torque of 340 Nm at 1900-3500 rpm. The powerful unit, because it is paired to a PowerShift dual-clutch transmission, is as frugal as they get when it comes to fuel consumption, with its appetite being rated at 7.9l/100km.
For the 2011 model year, the Mondeo received no less than 232 changes or updates to mostly all of the components of the vehicle. The car also received or improved its existing safety systems, including knee airbag on driver seat, Hill Launch Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, LED daytime running lights, rain-sensing wipers, front parking sSensors, rear view camera, blind spot information system and day-night rearview mirrors.

The MG3 debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December 2010 and is expected to take on the likes of Suzuki Swift, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit & Ford Fiesta. According to media reports the car looks incredibly good from the outside however the interior quality is said to be a compromise. If MG want the 3 to become a real fighting super mini, then the quality will have to be raised considerably before final production, says CCT. That being said the MG3 is an incredibly unique little car and appears to have been able to jump out of the ‘super minis’ are designed for girls design theory that has blighted the majority of small cars to becoming ‘girly cars’

MG3 will get two engine options: a 1.3 with 92hp and a 1.5 with 108hp mated to a either a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. It measures 3999×1728x1517mm, having a wheelbase of 2520mm. The car will be officially launched & priced in coming months, will it be able to fight with the Swift, Fit, & Yaris, only time will tell.
EDIT: MG3 prices announced!
1.3L manual standard base – 69,700 (8.9 lac PKR)
1.3L automatic base – 76,700 (9.8 lac PKR)
1.5L manual standard – 83,700 (10.7 lac PKR)
1.5L automatic standard, 89,700 (11.5 lac PKR)
1.5L XCross manual, 91,700 (11.8 lac PKR)
1.5L XCross automatic, 103,700 (13.3 lac PKR)

Edward and Ariel, as you two are serious collectors, what's your impression of the future of these marketing tools? Press packages are increasingly only provided in digital formats (disc/flash stick in small package). The expense of small publication runs for deluxe consumer packages such as the hard-bound examples above only make sense for limited audience luxury models. As these companies try to expand new markets, do you think their brochures will reflect the cultures of those places, or retain more Western marketing themes?

In my opinion, a good car brochure, in addition to introduce the basic performance and technical vehicle data, to nurture their own (local) cultural and geographical features, although these factors can not directly promote the realization of marketing, but to bring the field of car culture The impact is profound.

Kia and its Chinese partners staged a grand show Thursday evening in Pudong, Shanghai, for the release of the redesigned Optima mid-size sedan, called K5 in China and South Korea. Available in seven versions of two power choices, 2.0L and 2.4L, the K5 takes big steps going upscale and distancing itself from the second generation Optima ("Yuanjian"), alongside which it will be sold.
Designed by Peter Schreyer, the K5 resembles a sports coupe with its wheelbase extended from 2700mm to 2795mm and body-length from 4728mm to 4825mm. The sleek feel is accentuated by the new, "tiger nose" grille, already seen on Sportage R.
With Sportage R, the K5 also shares two engines in the Theta II series: a 2.0L (G4KD) putting out a maximum of 165Ps and 198Nm, and a 2.4L (G4KE) putting out 179Ps and 231Nm.
Features found on upper trim levels include panoramic sunroof, xenon headlights, VSM (vehicle stability management), rearview camera, one-touch start, and cruise control.
The upgrades come at hefty costs for the buyers. For the 2.0L GL, GLS and Top versions, the K5 is over 30,000 Yuan more expensive than the second gen Optima. Starting at 159,800 Yuan for the 2.0L MT GL, prices of the K5 reach as high as 249,800 Yuan for the 2.4L Premium.

You have to hand it to BAIC, they were among the first Chinese automotive companies to figure out that by working with a foreign company they could make better cars in China and sell a lot of them at the same time. Initially BAIC signed up with AMC to produce the Jeep Cherokee in China but this single model soon expanded into a full line of Chrysler vehicles, and even the Neon at one point (but the government decided this was a breakaway from their SUV mandate and denied a production license). Sadly the JV with Chrylser ended and became a simple sales deal to sell Chrysler vehicles in China. However, BAW learned a lot from the partnership, and one of the points learned was how to make a jeep that looks better than all modern Jeeps.
The 007 was on show at last year of Beijing Auto Show and measures in at (LxWxH) 4595 x 1828 x 1804mm, making it a compact SUV but with a 200mm clearence from the floor. The entry angly is 32° and the exit angle is 29°, which will make it pretty decent both on and offroad. The 2.4L 4 cylinder engine is not exactly a powerful power plant, with it only being able to push the 007 up a 60% angle.
Engines for the 007 will come in 4 cylinder form only and then only 2.4 and a 2.0L paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
That is a 6 page folder about it which I got from Auto Shanghai 2011.

- Lexus RX?
- No, from Huanghai - China!
Huanghai Auto is a maker of big trucks, pick ups and simple suv’s for the countryside. Now they want to move into the more sophisticated pessenger-car market to make more money. And there is no better way to do that than copying a Lexus. This is the new Landscape V3.
Size: 4620x1860x1830, wheelbase is 2730 and weight 1360. It’s 4×2 or 4×4. Engines a 2.0, 2.4 and 2.5 diesel. The 2.4 has 105kw and 200nm, top speed is 160km/h. Price will start around 140.000 RMB.
I have a 8 page folder about it, for every collector, if you are interested in it!

When looking at the Fiat 500 minicar here at the Shanghai auto show my head starts to spin thinking about the global odyssey it took to get here.
Before me is a car originally designed and engineered in Italy. It was then adapted by Chrysler engineers in Auburn Hills, Michigan, to meet U.S. safety and emission standards. The tweaked 500, which is sold under license in North America by Chysler, is built at Chrysler's factory in Toluca, Mexico. That version is being shipped to China, where a joint venture between Fiat and local partner Guangzhou Automobile Co. (GAC) will sell it starting in September.
Wow!
The price of the 500 in China has not been announced yet, but it will be positioned midway between two other tiny European icons aimed at affluent Chinese buyers: Daimler's Smart ForTwo and the Mini from BMW Group.
Starting in 2012, Fiat expects to sell just 5,000 units a year of the 500 in China – the world's biggest market – which seems like a modest goal for Europe's second-best-selling minicar (the Fiat Panda is No. 1).
But this target is a reminder that Fiat is starting from scratch in China, where it will have just 34 dealers selling the 500 this year. The dealer network is expected to grow to 100 by the end of 2012.
By that time, Fiat and GAC are due to start making a Fiat-badged version of the Dodge Caliber replacement in China.
The same size, but different text and photos of Fiat 500 brochure is here!

Another brand joins the fray in that very important automotive market known as China. Spanish brand SEAT announces its impending arrival there with its participation at the Shanghai Motor Show, which begins later this week.
The aim, of course, is to establish the SEAT brand among potential customers before sales begin with the export of Spanish-assembled Leon and Ibiza models to the country in 2012.
The brand says it has identified a large demand for distinctive European cars among Chinese consumers, and believes that the timing is right to expand into that key market.
The company says its research shows that Chinese car buyers are a very design-conscious lot, valuing performance and dynamism as well as technology and state-of-the-art engineering, according to SEAT’s president James Muir. Doesn’t sound very different than in most places, does it now?
The Volkswagen Group wants to further enlarge its already huge footprint in China, and will call on Spanish brand Seat to provide the extra ammunition. VW has decided

It’s the new Baojun 630 sedan, which debuted last week at the Shanghai auto show. Apparently, the midsize Baojun 630 has one truly appealing quality: It’s cheap.
The Baojun 630 is a midsize vehicle that was developed locally using GM technology. It is the first member of SGMW’s new Baojun brand of passengervehicles that will be available nationwide. The Baojun 630 will go on sale shortly after the auto show concludes.
The new Baojun sedan will be sold on the local market complete with a 1.5l DOHC engine, capable of producing 108 hp at 5,800 rpm and maximum torque of 146 Nm at 4,200 rpm. Far from being frugal when it comes to fuel consumption, judging by today’s standards, the engine needs however a comfortable amount of fuel to cover 100 km: 6.9 liters.
With a wheelbase of 2,640-mm it is also spacious inside and with more than 22 individual storage spaces for convenient storage and retrieval, it is also practical.
This being a family car it also has a comprehensive list of safety features including high-strength steel and the adoption of anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, three-point seat belts with early warning restraints, reverse drive radar, child safety seat fasteners and safety locks.
Baojun, whose name translates to “treasured horse”, will go on sale later this month through a network of 150 dedicated dealerships across the country.
The number of dealerships is expected to double by the end of the year, GM said in a statement.
Every collector will receive that brochure from me.

The joint venture of SAIC and Volkswagen announced today the release of "New Passat," previously known as New Midsize Sedan (NMS), available in six versions of three engines options: 1.8TSI, 2.0TSI, and 3.0 V6. Priced between 218,800 Yuan ($33,500) and 310,800 Yuan ($47,600), it will be on the new car market alongside the Shanghai-VW Passat-Lingyu, a facelifted fifth generation Passat.
Developed by Shanghai-VW and VW Passenger Cars, the New Passat is built on the same PQ46 platform as the VW Magotan and CC, two Chinese versions of the sixth generation Passat presently produced by FAW-VW (the Passat-Lingyu is based on a modified PL45).
With the FAW-VW CC the New Passat also shares two engine options: a 1.8TS of 118kW/4500-6200rpm and 250Nm/1500-4500rpm, coupled with a 7DSG, and a 2.0TSI of 147kW/5100-6000rpm and 280Nm/1700-5000rpm, paired with a 6DSG.
The New Passat has a 2803mm wheelbase, 91mm longer than that of the CC. It stands 4870mm long, 1834mm wide, and 1472mm wide.
Three trims are unveiled: Comfortline, Highline, and Flagship. Exclusive features on the Flagship include auto parking, remote start, and DVD theatre.
In a couple of months, another version of Passat, the B7 from FAW-VW, will go on sale, making China the only major market to get both the B7 and NMS.
I think it is a good brochure from SVW! And it's worth collecting!

Following a trend among sino-foreign joint ventures, Dongfeng-Nissan launched the China-only brand Venucia (Qichen) last year. At 2010 Guangzhou Auto Show, the concept of the first Venucia model made a limited appearance, with only the front half of it revealed. This time the entire car is introduced–only to show that it is still an unfinished product, a polished shell mostly. If the volume-production model based on it will indeed be released in the first half of 2012, as Dongfeng-Nissan declares, then the joint venture must have a lot to accomplish in one year.
On introducing the Venucia concept at the show, Dongfeng-Nissan provided few useful details. Our guess is that the sedan comes from Nissan’s B platform, and is directly modeled upon either Tiida or Sunny.

At Shanghai Motor Show, the interior was invisible behind black glass because, one suspects, there was really not much to see. The suspicion was confirmed by a peek at the car’s underside: no suspension or powertrain–except the tires–has been installed. The shining exhaust tips were purely ornamental.

Dear Fiat Fans,
After Fiat Palio finished selling in China market, a good news about it again!
Just like any car market there are consumers in China that demand aesthetically pleasing designs, and then there are those demand cheap economical easy to run cars, hence the mark 2 VW Jetta still being in production in Changchun. Several years ago Zotye did a deal with Fiat where Zotye would take Fiat’s old platforms off its hands, including the Palio and Zotye models and also several Lancia sedans (and wagons) which they will put into production soon.
Zotye have given the Palio a decent upgrade for 2011 which seems to have dragged it respectfully into a new decade. Under the hood the newly rechristened Z200 will be packing 1.3L and 1.5L engines and will be carrying Hyundai’s gearboxes. On the inside we have heard the Z200 will have leather seats, a GPS/DVD system, full electric windows and push button engine start.
Pricing has not yet been announced, but it is expected that this will be in 70,000rmb range and will no doubt find itself a decent market due to the relatively high amount of tech in the car and attractive design.
Zotye Auto, maker of the popular Nomad small SUVs, the Hong Kong actor and Cantopop singer Leon Lai will direct and play in a series of commercials promoting the M300 compact MPV (Langyue).
Released in last October, the M300 is basically a rebadged, Chinese-built Fiat Multipla 2. It is available as a 5- or 6-seater, and powered by a 76kW 1.6-liter. 1,245 units of it were sold in January, 2011.

LUXGEN Motors (Chinese: 納智捷汽車; pinyin: Nàzhìjié Qìchē) is a Taiwanese automaker. It was initially a private brand, announced by Yulon on January 6, 2009. The name "Luxgen" is formed by combining "Luxury" and "Genius". The company's slogan is "Think Ahead". Luxgen also plans to launch the brand in China and manufacture Luxgen vehicles in Hangzhou, China in late 2010.
The first product is an MPV called the Luxgen7 MPV. It was officially shown to the public on August 19, 2009. The second product, the Luxgen7 SUV, was revealed in Xindian on 12/4/09. Sales began well, with the Luxgen brand seventh place in the Taiwanese market after its first year, with August 2010 sales only ten cars behind fifth placed Ford Lio Ho.
Both cars are powered by a 2.2L I-4 MEFI turbocharged engine developed by ChungHwa Engine Corp. and tuned by Delphi. The turbocharger is supplied by Garrett and powers the engine up to 175 PS (129 kW; 173 hp) and 28 kg·m (270 N·m; 200 lb·ft) of torque from 2,500 to 4,000 rpm. The 5-speed Automatic transmission is supplied by Aisin. Pricing for the MPV starts at NT$798,000 up to NT$1,068,000, and NT$838,000-NT$1,148,000 for the SUV. ABS, EBD, BAS and the Think+ Multi-purpose system(slightly different by trim level) are all standard equipment. The targeted competitor is the Toyota Previa.
Here are three brochures from Shanghai Motor Show.
Let me know who is interested in it.

Dear Lotus Lovers
Proton’s Motorsport division lads have certainly been busy bees. The Satria Neo R3 Supercharged seen recently hasn’t been the only thing worked on, it seems.
Say hello to the ARTIGA Concept, which Proton – or rather, Youngman – has unveiled at Auto Shanghai. It’s another Satria Neo-based offering the company says is a study on the future of the hot hatch for Proton, one inspired by its participation in motorsports, but taken to a new level.
Unlike the supercharged R3 Neo, the debutant in China is less flashy colour-wise, clad in a more stoic grey tone, but in terms of exterior lines is certainly more aggresive, with extensive use of carbon fibre. Among the places the stuff makes its way on to is the bonnet, side skirts, spoiler as well as rather aggressively-shaped front and rear diffusers. The car features a patented stamping process to mass produce the carbon fibre parts, which helps to significantly reduce the cost of the items.
Plenty in the way of radical bulging bits though – check out what passes off as wheel arches on the car, working their way into the remodelled bumpers! Elsewhere, the concept features centrally-mounted twin tailpipes, swanky new headlamps and Oz Racing wheels, among other things.
It features the same supercharger treatment – as the Satria Neo R3 Supercharged – to increase power and torque (which should put it at 180 hp and 200 Nm, presumably), as well as the same Ohlins and AP brake package as seen in the limited-edition Satria Neo Lotus Racing.
The ARTIGA is on display at Proton’s Chinese partner Youngman’s booth, and is there to gauge the public’s feedback and interest. A bit of trivia: The car is sporting a Youngman logo, as Proton currently has no direct presence in China at the moment. Clever name too, ARTIGA is, yes?
This Chinese language brochure is very very rare, I think! And it's just for Lotus lovers!

Dear Military Vehicle or 6X6 Lovers,

The Dongfeng EQ2102 3.5 ton 6X6 military utility truck was developed by Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM) in the mid-1990s as a successor to the EQ2100 (EQ245). As the PLA’s standard second-generation 3.5 ton troop/cargo carrier truck, the EQ2102 is a replacement for the ageing Jiefang CA30 and Dongfeng EQ2081/2100 in PLA service. The truck is to be equipped by the motorised infantry divisions and brigades as the primary transportation vehicle for soldiers and cargo in both on- and off-road conditions.

The EQ2102 has a maximum load capacity of 5,000kg on road and 3,500kg off-road. The primary roles for the truck include: to carry troops or cargo in the battlefield; to haul artillery guns and various trailers weighted 2.3~4.8 ton; to provide a platform for various weapon systems and equipment workshops.

The EQ2102 truck adopts a “Cab-Over-Engine” (COE) layout, and is available in two variants: EQ2102 with a five-man (4-door) cab and EQ2102G with a three-man (2-door) cab and a longer cargo bed. The cargo bed has its bed side rails mounted on hinges, and can be equipped with an optional bench seat kit for transport of soldiers. A canvas and bows kit is provided to keep soldiers and cargo protected from the elements. The vehicle can also be equipped with a self-recovery winch capable of fore vehicle recovery operations.

The truck is powered by a Dongfeng-made Cummins 6BT5.9 six-cylinder in line, 5.88 litre, liquid-cooled, turbo-charged, direct injection, 160hp diesel engine with a 2-speed, electrically controlled transfer case. The gear-box has five forward speeds and one reverse speed. The maximum road speed is 90km/h. The fuel tank is 145 litre. The 100km fuel consumption is 26.5 litre.

The Toyota Vios is a 4-door subcompact sedan developed for the South East Asia, China, and Taiwan markets.

Introduced in 2003, the Vios serves as a replacement of the Toyota Tercel (called the Toyota Soluna in Thailand and Indonesia), which filled the Asian subcompact market for a 1.5 litre, below the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry, both of which are also marketed in the region. The Vios is marketed alongside the Toyota Yaris in most countries in South East Asia, which offered another option for a hatchback, when it officially entered the region's market in 2005. In the United States, the second generation Vios is known as the Toyota Yaris sedan.

A major difference of the Vios in Mainland China is that the larger capacity models are powered by the new 1.6L *1ZR-FE engine with Dual VVT-i.

Unlike other markets, Mainland China uses version naming as follows:

§ 1.3GL-i

§ 1.6GL-i (auto or manual)

§ 1.6GL-S (leather seats with sunroof)

§ 1.6GLX-i (sports - like GL-S, but with kit and dark interior)

Shanghai Automotive acquired British manufacturer LDV in 2010. LDV was specializing in the production of vans and light buses. Their most famous product was Maxus van. After the purchase, production facilities of Maxus were shipped to the Wuxi factory of Nanjing Auto. SAIC announced it will start making Maxus vans in China in 2011.
On February 28th Shanghai Auto presented new brand to Chinese media. The MAXUS Datong (meaning big wisdom and smooth in Chinese) is the third self-owned brand for SAIC. The car maker, a partner of General Motors and Volkswagen, said the first Chinese-made Maxus vehicle will be a wide-body van that seats 16 passengers and targeting the mid-to-high end segment. The Maxus will be important in SAIC's overall commercial vehicle strategy. It will be made in SAIC's plant in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, and slated for the market in July this year as well plans for exports.

Beijing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (BAIC Group) will begin mass-production of all-electric vehicles in 2011, while only rolling out 30 units of the C60 electric cars this year. The company is planning to start operations at a new production facility, which will have an annual capacity of 40,000 new energy vehicles in the second quarter of next year.
About 800 of BAIC's 2011 EVs will be the C60FB model, which is based on the Saab 9-3 body, while the C301 EV, based on BAIC's C30 hatchback model, will account for 1,200 vehicles. The remaining EVs will be M30 RB minivans, Chinese auto parts industry news service Gasgoo.com reports.

The C60FB, which will have lithium-ion batteries, will be offered in two versions that have top speeds of about 100 miles per hour and 120 miles per hour, respectively, according to the news service.

BAIC is China’s fifth-largest car manufacturer and the Chinese partner of Daimler AG and Hyundai Motor Corp. The company will make all-electric vehicles based on its C-, B-, A+-, A- and A0-class models, as well as its mini vehicles in the future.

Here are 3 sheets about BAIC – very rare!

Guangzhou Toyota are planning to launch the EZ MPV in the Chinese market on June 21st according to media reports, the compact MPV will targeted against other family use MPV’s such as the Mazda 5 and the highly popular VW Touran. June 21st will see the launch party happening in Beijing, but the car will not be in dealers until early July, three different engine offerings will be available with a lowly 1.6L starting, a 1.8L in the middle and a 2.0L top of the range model. The EZ had its first airing at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December 2010 and again in Shanghai in April this year, it seems that Toyota are not going to be promoting this vehicle as a traditional MPV but will instead be calling it a FUV which according to Toyota means Fashionable Utility Vehicle.

In other markets the EZ is known as the Verso and is based on the Toyota Corolla platform.

Peugeot’s last mid size sedan was a sales disaster, the 505 was launched into China via joint venture between Guangzhou Auto and Peugeot in the late 90′s, it appeared that neither company were quite ready for the market with Peugeot being a little green behind the ears in China and Guangzhou Auto only just been assembled a few months earlier. Ultimately Peugeot left the Chinese market and didn’t come back until a few years later with Dongfeng Auto as a partner instead. In the Chinese market Peugeot has seen some slow but steady growth, with new models being launched every few month it seems that Peugeot maybe getting the upper hand at long last.

The latest model, the 508, was first unveiled earlier this year at the Shanghai Auto Show and had its official launch in Hangzhou over the weekend, the 508 is competitively priced with it starting at just 160,000rmb for the 2.0L model and rising to just under 230,000rmb for the top of the range 2.4L model.

2011 2.0L MT 169,700
2011 2.3L AT Classic 191,700
2011 2.3L AT Luxury 209,700
2011 2.3L AT Flagship 229,700

The 508 is very well priced when compared with its competitors, the 508 will see competition from its cousin the C5, the Ford Mondeo, the Buick Regal, and various higher end Chinese models.

It is a good brochure in Chinese language with 20 pages.

Recently, around the 1st anniversary of Chery A3’s launch in mainland China, the A3 assembled in Taiwan went off-line successfully, which indicates that, after the 1-year test by market and customers, A3 has paved its own way amid the competition of family sedans. By launching exquisite models, Chery begins to promote brand image and consolidate its market beyond the mainland.
The newly launched Taiwan version A3 is a 2.0L automatic sedan planned to be launched in Taiwan market at the end of this year. Tailored for young trendsetters, the new model is guided by European mainstream and classic techniques, with the 3rd-generation technology as platform. It also applies the independently developed ACTECO engine, which is effective, energy-saving and more powerful. Moreover, it enhances drivers' comfort and control by the application of high-quality chassis, four-link rear suspension system, and the 1.8-meter-wide European style wide body. This Taiwan version A3 adopts plenty of high strength steel, is equipped with 6 airbags which can only be seen in medium and premium commercial vehicles, and even ESP (Electronic Stability Program), resulting in all-round safety performance on a par with safety standard of premium commercial vehicles. Previously, A3 in mainland has gone through a 66-day Wuhu to Beijing 100,000km non-stop public road test. It successfully finished the maximum journey equaling two and a half circles of the earth, confirming the high quality of its own.
A3 is the first model for Chery's entry into Taiwan, which will be followed by G6 and G5 next year. Compared with mainland China, although it has the characteristics of high cost and low capacity, Taiwan auto market is advanced with technology of auto components, electronic controllers and other electronic equipments. Chery intends to improve its product quality by combining the distinct advantages from both sides, integrating the supply chains and improving the quality of electronic and relevant components, so as to jointly develop auto market of both sides. For A3, except engine, transmission and body stamping parts & sheet metal being introduced from the mainland, the rest 60% of the components will be provided locally and in return, are supposed to be sold to mainland, rather than only applied to Chery’s Taiwan models.
In 2009, other than Taiwan market, Chery, as an independent auto brand in China, has successfully entered into emerging markets such as Brazil. Till the end of 2009, Chery will have established 15 overseas plants around the world, with its products distributed to more than 70 countries and regions. Chery’s entry to Taiwan by launching the exquisite model of A3 indicates Chery’s great emphasis and expectation on the market.

China is a confusing place for VW Lovers, with multiple generations of products on offer its a tangled market, but I think even China Car Times is coming to understand the situation. SAIC-VW will introduce the New Passat at the Shanghai Auto Show which is the New Mid Size Sedan (NMS) and was built only for the US and Chinese market, on the other foot FAW-VW will produce the new European Passat, aka the Passat B7L, L of course standing for lengthened, but this will sell under the Magotan name.
Did we make that clear enough? One country, two Passats.
The Passat B7L will be sold with 1.4TSI, 1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engines, production is expected to begin in the second quarter.

I visited Wiesmann official website, and sent email, then I received those brochures. I am very happy and surprised.
Usually, I sent letters to the dealers in the country of Japan to ask some brochures on Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, etc. Some dealers in Japan CAN sent me. I wonder why they sent me? As they must know that I am not a buyer for them......That was not happened in other countries, but this is the first time for me to have the brochures from Europe by email!!!
Before that, I have got Neoplan by the same way!
I will have Alexander-Dennis brochures soon! - the same way!!!

In China, almost every car manufacturer has its own magazine!
Today I have MG one, I think it's different from other ones, because of its less commercial, and a rich cultural atmosphere in it!
Also I have its postcard!
Please look - the magazine.

I managed to get hold of a new customer only brochure for the McLaren MP4-12C. I havent got it yet, but its coming in the next couple of days via recorded delivery.

Would any of you like photos when it arrives?

After speaking with the Sales Manager, he said its got nearly 200 pages, hardback in a soft back case, embossed with McLaren logo - sounds nice!!

Ive seen a few MP4 12C brochures on ebay, but none of them have near to 200 pages. One sold last night for £285.00 which has 68 pages...and was supposedly a VIP brochure...so we'll have to wait and see what I get!!

I wrote to McLaren in February, asking for a brochure for the MP4 but they wrote back saying that there were no brochures even printed (which was obviously a lie at the time), they continued by saying that they were planning to produce a "customer only" brochure by August and that a "few" extra copies would be produced for collectors, thus I contacted McLaren again in August and voila...they had arrived for their customers and few collectors.

Unfortunately or fortunately (depending which way you look) it cost my bank account £125.00 to be precise, but personally I think its a worthwhile investment.

So sadly, its not one of these once in a lifetime freebies and neither in mass production.

I don't like buying or selling any car brochures! Unless I MUST buy one - that must be the old one - the first or second generation of the car! Or nobody wants to swap with me - such as Jaguar XJ220!

Besides the Fiat 500, another European “connected” should make its market debut in China next September. This is the Peugeot RCZ.
According to China Car Times, however, there is a snag. With the price. According to them, the RCZ would be marketed 400,000 RMB equivalent of 43,000 euros in China. While Hyundai coupes equivalents are sold in 2.0 RMB 220,000 - 320,000 RMB and T in V6.
Only a 20 pages brochure avaliable. Almost the same photos with its Europe ones.

As if the European and American waiting list for the Audi R8 supercar isn't long enough already, Audi announced that China will receive its own share of the R8 production. Yesterday at the Shanghai International Circuit Audi FAW officially announced the arrival of the fastest Audi ever.
The supercar will be priced at around 1,79 million Yuan (about 168,000 Euro) but Audi has not set any sales targets. Last year Audi sold 25% more cars than in 2006 in China, resulting in over 100,000 sales for the luxury marque. Ralph Weyer, Audi sales and marketing boss, said to Automotive News last week that he expects sales to continue rising in China with the help of new models like the R8, A5 and S5.
The brochure was printed by FAW in July 2011, 28 pages.
