A combination of all, but without performance the rest mean nothing. :)

performance, because if I'm getting a fast car, I expect a higher price. I also dont mind skimpy interiors (roll up windows, power nothing), and form should follow function.

everything but price, because i only look at cars i can afford ;) mostly performance and exterior, just good luxury is enough for me (leather, nav system, wood, etc.) so i dont need to tick every single box on the options list

Comfort, price, safety, and the get up and go.
Plus, acceleration noise.
645Ci accelerating to 40Mph...Hmmm.

that goes under performance, yeah, i think luxury matters the most for me, for the price ofcourse.

yeah noise is a major thing for me, that could determine a buy or a no-sale :D

If you want those four in order: Price, Performance, Exterior, Interior.

Radio and awesomeness. Numbers do nothing for me. To put that in perspective, I drive a 1965 Mini Panelvan that is in desparate need of a restoration job on the body (the paint comes off when I wash it, I get milky puddles), whereas I could be driving a 1985 BMW 323i, with air-con, more go, nicer interior.. crappier stereo, but the swap is extremely easy, as they are both the same brand. But yea, I like my crappy mini, so I keep it.

In no real order because they are weighted evenly - comfort, refinement, build quality, exterior, and interior. I look at performance (by performance I mean power, torque, speed) second, although after having owned a 110kw BMW 320i for the past 3 years, I really welcome the extra performance my 240kw XR6T gives me. That said, my BMW handles better.

quite, combined with comfort, economy and a certain level of performance. What I don't need are distracting things like outlandish sound kits (listening to the news on the radio should be enough) and fancy navigation systems or computers.

i don't have much use for a satnav or large sound system

On topic - i guess i allways look at a car being special or not, i don't give a rat's ass about cars that are made in the hundreds of thousands, maybe some, but there are rare cases. interior is an important point for me, then exterior, but like i said many times the cars has to have the "special car" factor, as i will probably only buy a couple of cars during my life time, they better be special! :)

1) Thrill, I don't want something boring as hell. It needs to be at least a BIT of a toy
2) It has to look decent, if not nice. I would hate to drive something like an Aztec.
3) It can't have to go to the gas station every ten minutes. At least decent fuel efficiency, and equally decent maintenance cost.
4) It has to sound nice. I don't want something that sounds like a radioshack RC.
5) Interior. If it isn't a real performance car, then I want that extra cost to at least make me decently comfortable. ESPECIALLY for when I have to drive far.
6) Performance. This is a last priority, as it tends to be expensive. BUT if I can afford a real performance car, and I want all the performance I can get per dollar, this becomes #1.

- Engine size (the bigger, the better).
- Horsepower and torque.
- The ability to burn rubber. :D
- Reliability, especially long-term because I keep my cars for a long time.
- Interior roominess and luggage capacity.
- Overall size (the bigger, the better for luxury cars).
- Amount of chrome.
- Overall styling (must look like a real car, not a blob or box car).

It all depends what car i'm looking at.

If I'm looking at a family car, for example, I want Safety, Space and comfort mainly. But if i'm looking at a race car or weekend driver I'm looking for Fun Factor, performance and wether it would be an investment or not.

I'm an engine man. I build 'em, I often push them to the breaking point, and I know what works. I could car less about anything else in a car. The body, paint, weight, interior, handling, suspension, wheels, all come second. An engine is what makes a car a car. The more exotic, the bigger, or the more powerful the engine the better.

I'd say i go for performance, because, without the right suspension, how are you suppost to go fast around corners? They also give a lower and better ride

The gas prize in norway is 8,4$ a gallon.

What to look at when you buy a car.

What i like.

I enden up whit a 1977 Mini. Its light , corner good, classical , smal , dont drink to mutch. But it dont have the performance yet. But if i put a suzuki swift 1,3l engine in it and buy performance stuff for it i can get 170hp whitout a turbo. Or i can use a vtec 1,6l and a turbo. I dont know how mutch hp i can get out of it ,but its a light car so it will move fast, and corner fast to.

www.miniv8.com Here is also a solution to the low performans questions.

The dream car is the Dodge charger 1968 hemi powerd.

I look for simplicity, and availability of a manual transmission. Also it has to be FR or RR....I've driven a few FF's that were ok in my book....but I still prefer to push rather than pull ^^,

I just filled the tank in my F-150 today for $60.....and that was just 3/4.....though, I think it took me about two weeks to actually use that much fuel :P
