Question For Model Cars

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if you are able to paint a new colour on a prepainted body. One of my friends told me that you can't do that and it will mess it all up, and I've never really made a real kit other than the snap/screw ones. Metal and plastic kits. Thanks.

Your friend has probably tried it awith differnet paint from the base and it can react badly.
You can spray with an undercoat/primer which will be a physical barrier and will accept the top coat, BUT then you risk losing detail. Getting the old paint off can be difficult but may be better in the long run.
