In the mid '80's Chrysler made a boring little car called the Dodge Omni, it was basic transportation that pretty much sucked.

However, Mr. Carroll Shelby made a nasty l'il version of the car called a GLH - stands for "Goes Like Hell", a year or so later he came out with a tubocharged version of the same car which was called the GLH-S - "Goes Like Hell - Somemore".

BS little car, but relatively quick for the time, 0-60 in 7.5 sec, 15.8 @ 87mph in the quarter and topping out around 120mph.

Viper (When you see the car you think about a dangerous snake, it's agressive), Murciélago (Murciélago is the name of a bull in a corrida. This bull has never been sacrified), and Diablo (when you hear the sound of the engine, you think about the evil, it's too dangerous and spectacular)...

I like Murcielago, but I wish there was a car called an "Evolution 427 GTR"

"Diablo", handsdown is the best car name, but there are others great ones like 911. When you hear 911 you think call the police, it's just so badass. :D
Murciélago and Viper are good, but not better than Diablo(which is Spanish for devil, if I'm not mistaken) and 911.

Yes 911 it's just funny cause when I'm on the highway and I'm overtaking a car, I use to say "The 911 is coming for you baby2 or "someone please call 911" lol that's too funny.

Diablo, yeah it's a cool name for an evil car like that.
Viper, the stance of the first models always made me think of a snake, it fit perfectly.
Mustang, a wild untameable horse, I love this name.
Mercury Cougar and Cyclone are sweet.
Dodge Charger and Barricuda are cool.
Cerbera, I think it means dangerous woman or something like that, in brazillian?
Ford Lightning, awesome name for an awesome truck.

There are a lot more I'm sure, I can't think of any though.

I like Cerbera, Cerberus was the huge, 3 headed dog in greek mythology i think  . Dodge took all the cool names and gave them to crappy cars :( e.g. Avenger, Venom.

Dont overlook cars that aren't so well off! Ford Escort for example, sounds likea big heavy military truck! Were all overlooking the panda i think? And what about the Toyota POD? Nice decription. The Vanquish sounds pretty cool i think, how about the countash, thats italian slang for something, i forget what...

Testtarossa, sounds like testosterone.
Oh and Gremlin, nice description.

Personally, I've always prefered alpha-numeric designations, rather than actual names. You know, like GT40, X1/9, RX-7, XR4Ti, GTi, 300ZX, M3, MT900, G60....

A lot of cars have names that are just plain stupid.

I read that it was the name of a legendary bull that survived a bullfight and was released. I think all Lamborghinis are supposed to be named after famous bullfighting bulls or something related to that.

when Ferrucio Lamborghini first saw the desighn for the Countash he said "Countash!" so i think its something like "sweet!" or "wicked!". and a well-fitting name for a car is a Ford Tempo, short for temporary transportation.:)

It's spelt "Countach".

And Tempo is a musical term which essentially means "pace", or "metered rythym".

And the original quote in your signature goes as follows:

"Chris Bangle is an evil robot sent from the future by Mercedes-Benz designed to destroy BMW."
