View Full Version : Which Headphones?

I have a problem, I own two headphones (see attachments), and use them both for their disciplines. My Sennheisers are still in perfect working order, and is not what my query is about, but my other headphones recently broke. I do not recall exactly what model they were, but I do know that they're from the Sony Clip On series of headphones (The picture is of Philips, I know, but I couldn't find any of the ones I own). I use these headphones from train/bus commuting to riding, both road and mountain biking. I need new headphones, and I'm hooked on the Clip Ons, but my problem is that Sony does not make this model anymore. I've tried the newer ones by Sony, but they're way to flimsy, and I would not be able to use them whilst riding, as they'd fall off way too easily. The picture I've included demonstrates what I'm after, something that is solid, sits on the ear very well and is not easily shaken off. Also sound quality is very important to me, I don't settle for anything that does not give me a satisfactory sound quality/clarity. My ears don't hold earbuds, so those are out of the question, and I need something that won't break when I fall, I.E. behind the head bar (I've broken 1 already). Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
(My picture of the Philips won't upload onto UCP, so here's the link. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00022OAH0/qid=1124634094/sr=8-6/ref=pd_bbs_unbuck_6/102-2092583-8126535?v=glance&s=electronics&n=541966

No location so kind of hard to guide you !!

( I think in future I'm going totell people I have the answer, but not gettign it till a locatin is entered. )

OK, Lets assume your smart, intelligent and good looking, so hence a Scot....
Overe here the Koss are nice ones. Ksc20, 22, 24 or somethign :)
bud sized, but have behind ear loop to hold it on and NO across neck band.

Course it also depends how much you want to pay.
Could go for professional stage fold-back headsets/earpieces but I'm guessing you dont' want to spend couple of hundred quid :)

My apologies, I'm in Australia, but I'm everything you mentioned there :p. My dad has a Koss pair, which sound good, but don't fit right. I'm after the same type of headphone as the Philips, not the clip around, in-ear style, I don't feel they give me the same quality/clarity as a sit-on-ear headphone. Price is not too much of an issue, but I'm not planning to spend upwards of AU$100 if need be. Then again, if the right headphones come along, I might. It all depends on the quality.
For clarifications sake, I need them to hold up to the aftermath of this, as I expect it to happen to me a fair few times with them on :p.

Amazing headphones. I have the studio ones for recording, AMAZING sound quality, own even Bose. They're closed back and the best I've ever had. Not a bad price- about... $160 US? Maybe $140.
