Is that the Tamiya kit?

Black body with aluminum AMG wheels (the last-generation AMG style wheels).

Nope. This is the LEE kit(but related to Tamiya, features all their items and the paint codes match Tamiya paints)

Those Lee kits are horrible, better to trash it than build it IMO.

I totally agree with Dino, I bought a few LEE kits and i hated them. Bits broke easy (or was that me trying to break it because it was crap  ).And i havent bought one since :D

I noticed, front brake bar was damaged  . I know, for a kit that only cost $3 USD its a pretty good bargain. With a little work, I'll make this a good one.

Now, lets take a rest from saying how horrible LEE kits are and check these new photos:

Engine installed and new rims

Sorry if pics are too big. Best thing to do if you don't have a pic resizer for internet, use photoshop and resize it.

Quick update. Interior is to completion, just need to install seatbelts

Interior is complete! Note the Carbon Fibre trim and the lit up Amber gauges(origianally meant to make it AMG style, but it just sounded wrong). Race-Style seatbelts. It was ribbon I had leftover, ran out. Next time I'll sew on the seatbelts, almost like real cars.

Interior modified, race seatbelts replaced with conventional seatbelts, Evolution conversion, preview. Just need to add some modifications, install hood, head/taillight lenses(projector), some other sutff and we'll call this a day. :-D

Did you brush paint the body? The surface looks very uneven

Yes. I don't have an airbrush.

Could try using a spraypaint next time for a smooth coat :)

Absolutely.^

Use Tamiya spray cans next time. :) Or if you have time, sand down the paint coat on this model's body and start over with Tamiya spray-the difference is amazing.

If i got spraypaint, I would have to have more use with that colour because I don't buy spraypaint if I only use a colour once. Getting an airbrush soon. Tips on metal transfers?

remove the transparent plastic with an exacto knife, put the tip between the metal and the plastic and then start fiddling until they are completely separate. The metal will stay sticky enough. It is the only way to free the star on the radiator (if there is one).

Thx, there is a star for the hood. Just wondering how since I thought it would come off itslef after rubbing it after a few days. Probable dosen't work. Hood's star seems tricky. So fragile. How do you remove the transparent plastic from the transfer?(transfers are stuck to transparent plastic)
