Testarossa's rear view mirrors

I've seen Testarossa's with high mirrors (sometimes only one - driver's side) and later ones with lower mirrors. Is there rationale for this?

Yes the first cars had the single high mirror and IIRC from 1988 the mirrors were fitted on a more common position.

I'm kinda partial to the older and higher mirrors. Did Ferrari make them higher for a reason or was it purly aesthetics? Or did governmental reasoning intervene.

I believe it changed when the second mirror was added, but just for aesthetics.
