one of the plumbers at work(another mad ford fan) test drove a ba gt auto on the weekend, he claims it was so larthagic down low and it didnt really pick up till it hit a 100kms an hour, he was pretty dissapointed with it. Then he jumped into a manual version and was blown away by how much more responsive it is and he couldnt quite believe they are allowed to make cars that quick!....Im hanging to see wether he ends up buying one or not!!

well that would be the 85km/h top speed of the 1st gear in the auto box doing that. im pretty sure all the GT's (man and auto) have the 3.45:1 diff and the man XR8 has the 3.23:1 and the auto XR8 has the 3.45:1 so its a good thing the auto GT doesnt have the lower diff ratio

but still, even with its 20km/h worth of overgearing you would think having 400nm on tap just off idle at 1000rpm would help mask the missing gear in the auto. theres no doubt though that when the 6 speed auto the tremec box wont be able to keep up
