Is there anybody out there who in simple terms, and may be helped by simple drawings, can explain the system of desmodromic valve gear? It was as far as I know first used in a Peugeot grand prix of 1913. Also in the fifties Mercedes applied the technology to its grand prix cars. Nowadays Ducati is still using it, with great success. But how does it really work?
Serious replies will be appreciated.
