hey somebody told me today that 99 cobras arent supercharged. is that true? if it is thats lame as hell...guess i wont be buying one of those

It's true, I forgot the year they started supercharging the cars, but I think it is either 00 or 01.

the 99 wasn't, nor the 01, the supercharged 1's started in 2003.
the 99-01 had a N/A ~320hp(which aparently dynoed less i believe), but people use those blocks because the block itself is strong.(the pistons/rods aren't so strong though, unlike the 03-04's which have been seen with 600+rwhp on stock bottomend)

Why not? That only means that a 99 should be cheaper to buy, you can always get an aftermarket supercharger. :)

No that 320 hp cobra was about 320 hp. They run pretty good at do 175. The cars run low 13's. The mach1 has the same engine but different heads. I have a 420 hp mach1 its pretty fast. runs 12's all day long. Those engines are bullet proof.

Do you have any pics of your cars? I'd like to see some. My friend's uncle works at a ford dealership and got to take home a Mach 1, he said it's just incredibly quick and handles great.

its gonna be a stretch to even get a 99 cobra if i even wanted one anymore let alone buy a supercharger for one. i was under the impression that they were supercharged from the factory in 99 so i didnt have to spend the extra money on a blower. oh well i guess

But if they 00' is arn't they the same body?

yeah their the same body but they cost a lot more. i guess theres a reason the older cobras cost so much less than the newer ones.
