As far as I know, these are the only types of stock production doors that have ever been made. If you can think of any more, let me know.

1. Standard Doors - (Example: Lotus Elise)
2. Linear External Sliding Doors - (Example: Toyota Sienna)
3. Coach ("Suicide") Doors - (Example: Lincoln Continental)
4. Scissor Doors - (Example: Lamborghini Diablo)

5. Gullwing Doors - (Example: Mercedes 300SL)
6. Dihedral Gullwing ("Butterfly") Doors - (Example: Saleen S7)
7. Dihedral Synchro-Helix Actuation Doors - (Example: Koenigsegg CCR)
8. "Swan-Wing" Doors - (Example: Aston Martin DB9) - I'm not sure if this should really count, but I'm including it anyways to be thorough.

10. Linear Internal Sliding Doors - (Example: Kaiser Darrin)
11. Front Hatch Door - (Example: BMW Isetta)
12. Reverse-Pivot Standard Doors - (Example: Syrena 104)

Scissor Doors pivot upward, butterfly doors pivot upward and forward. Compare a Murcielago and an Enzo.

Uh...yeah, I guess. Why not? It makes for a much better post.
could there be anymore design
maybe puch a buton and the door desapear :D

That sounds pretty difficult to engineer :D

I have an idea, how about backwards scissor and butterfly doors? :D
And probably a door that flips down like an oven.

I'm sure i've seen a car that had doors that opened down and out to provide some kind of step??? I shall see if i can find it.

The Range Rover Stormer had 2 piece doors that had a step

1. Concept: Doors that are actually the side of the car - (Example: Chrysler concept)
12. Door which is actually front of car - (Example: BMW Isetta)

Yeah, I was thinking no doors. Lotus is one example, stripped-down Jeep Wrangler is what made me think of it.

And don't forget the NASCAR doors... :p

^^ Suicide doors

Egg-nog, I think it'd help if you posted a pic of suicide doors with the doors open :)

I've added the Isetta-style doors, but not the other one. You'll notice that in the first post I've mention that we're talking about stock production doors, so concepts naturally aren't included. Find me a real car with this style of door and it'll be added.

Edited as such. :)

Seeing as we've had almost every style of door on stock cars, what fancy CONCEPT doors are there? (Of course, keeping on with stock types as well if anyone else has any.)

I'll kick it off with the Maserati Birdcage.

2. Door which is... Half the car? - (Example: Maserati/Pininfarina Birdcage Concept)

It actually always said production cars in the first post, but I did indeed change the title so it was more obvious :D

that looks like a modified Town and Country.

I know that I will never see that on teh production model, because those are impractical for garages amd parking spaces.

What about half-of-the-roof-comes-with-it doors, like on the Ford GT?

Bump, thought I should make this relevent since I posted a link in another thread...

well...

for most car manufacturers the design of the doors has to do with

1) strength
- as most doors nowadays are load bearing parts of the cars also it has to be rigid enough to stand side impacts. Older cars like ths Lincoln Continental when you open both doors simutaneously its hard to close them tightly. If you notice the RX-8's doors although they are "suicide" the rear doors are much smaller than the front doors. the reason for this is to reduce the open are made when oth doors are open.

2) Size
- cars like the lambo have their trademark "sissor doors" because the doors are so long if they opened normally they would hit the car next to it also the car is possitioned so close to the ground that it would hit the curb (same reason as the koenigsegg). Most supercars have "differrent" doors due to the fact that they have bigger engines and have to deal with higher torque and loads, also they tend to be lower than normal cars.

3) Pimped
- for those REALLY UNUSUAL doors its all about pimping, its about getting attention.

180 suicide doors:

I don't see how opening really wide makes them operate any different than regular suicide doors. Also, they're not production doors.

Link removed because I have a feeling you're just trying to promote your company.

Sorry if I'm being too harsh.
