Has anybody got any information on monoshock suspension layouts? Internet based information would be great. Thanks.

you mean mac strut?

one shock driven by both wheels? I'm confused. The only car I know of with true monoshock was the Van Diemen Formula Renault (year?)which used an innovative Y beam connecting both front arms to a single shock. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/rallye/racing/images/fr_frnt.jpg

However, the term monoshock could be a hangover - by people who don't know any better - from the biking world. There, coil-overs shocks are generally all monoshocks now, so it could be the source of confusion.

Tell us where you heard it and we can maybe guide your learning.
BTW you could just put monoshock into www.google.com and read lots of alternatives. Ohlins are one of the best monoshocks for bikes and make some awesome multi-rate dampers for competition cars.
