Hey all,

I wont be around much in the next week or so as on Satuday night at the Canberra Capitals basketbal game my dad suffered a fatal heart attack.

We knew it was coming just that youre not really ever prepared for it. He was 60 in April this year.

Not really much more to say.

See you all round.

There are no words strong enough to ease the pain. So I'd just want you to know I'm deeply sad for knowing that and I wish you the best way out of the suffering.

A couple of beers will do the trick, get your mates round and get your mind off it. Ive found it works when my grandad died.

SlickHolden
10-03-2005, 08:49 AM
But it's when they are gone and your alone it hurts bad it's being on your own to be able to think it's the worst thing your thoughts come and so does the pain:( You can't run away from it forever.

Ouch, Sorry man. My condolences to you. Can't think of anything meaningful and unique to say that hasn't really been said already....so, sorry man, I hope the hard greiving is short and easy, but the sweet memory of your father stays with you.

Like taz said there is probably nothing here that'll help ease the pain and I probably can't feel your sorrow as I'm not close to anyone in my immediate family in perticular, but I never saw my grandparents besides grandma from moms side and she's going to go soon too and I'm rather attached to her so yeah, I have a tingle of pain already. Just wanted you to know that there are lots of us here in the same position, if that helps at all. My thoughts are with you.

MY absolute deepest condolences go to you, family members, and everyone who knew your dad. Kia Kaha (Be Strong). And like what Slick Said, don't bottle up your emotions. Your true mates and your family, will understand your emotion.

oh ive been venting but its hard. Im trying to do things for mum and especially keep it together for my little bro (14)

Im working on dads eulogy which is difficult. Heaps of people have been around dropping off food and flowers and things and the phone doesnt stop ringing. i wish theyd stop honestly. its just more annoying answering the phone every 20 mins then anything now.

Thanks for all your comments and support guys i really appreiciate it.

Hey Bluey.

I remember my Grandmother's funeral, she wanted something not to remember her death, but to celebrate her life.

I can understand you're getting annoyed at the Phone calls (It was every 15 for my mother, she was constantly in tears over who called up) but that just proves all those who really cared enough about your father to make an effort to say their sorry for your loss.

Hang tough buddy and stay strong. But don't be afraid to cry (dark glasses are a good idea at the funeral, they hide the pain :( )

We're Here for you dude.

Sorry to read of your loss.

Obviously as with the rest of UCP my thoughts and condolences are with you and your family.

Remember all the good times, his strength will always be there for you and your family. You're only losing his physical embodiment. All the rest of him, the love, support and fun will always be in your heart and mind for you to lean on in the hard times and laugh at in the good.

Best wishes

Peter
