I'm sure Coventry or Matra can tell you that. :)

hint for all web question about companies.....

try just putting www.<insert companyname>.com ( or .co.uk for British companies )

You'll be amazed how many times it hits the target

For example www.mclaren.co.uk and click on history then timeline :D

it's happy ?

Google is only as good as the question you pose to it and how you use the answers.

"mclaren history" turned up an MSN site as first and the McLaren site provided earlier as 5th on list returned.
Best to work WITH a search engien to get the right answer.
You should give as much relevant info as you can in the search and then scan the summaries to see which one looks to be best fit for what you are looking for.

Hope that helps you search in the future.

For hints for the more obscure cars in the badges quiz I need to use histories found via Google/AltaVista. I used "xxxxx car history" lots of times and always managed to find something !!

nah i didnt try google, its not worth it wen i know the answers are here...and i can ask questions...the search didnt work becuase, like i sed often manufacturer sites have no info on the history of the company. i hate it when you try to find out the companies previous models and there is just nothing...
but if you just type in the name of the manufacturer almost always the site for it is the first on the list.

McLaren are more of a specialist technology/ engineering firm than a car company.

The McLaren Group consists of:
McLaren Automotive - builders of the F1 and Mercedes SLR McLaren, also do a lot of things with advanced composites
McLaren Racing - the F1 team
McLaren Applied Technologies - lots of high tech stuff. They built bits for the Beagle 2 mars lander IIRC
McLaren Electronic Systems - providing electronics for 8/10 F1 teams, and most of the WRC teams, as well as lots of other things.
McLaren Marketing - responsible for McLaren's PR, looking after VIPs at F1 races primarily.
Absolute Taste - provides all of McLaren's corperate catering
Lydden Circuit - A circuit, near Lydden.
