yes, i will retire from making/creating and managing the general photography competitions from this week. This is my last week. After 20 comps, i have simply a too busy schedule.School is becoming very busy this year.I'm in my holidays now and even now i spend 5 hours a day learning.Im also decresing my time behind the computer drastically.

I will creste the last voting thread this friday, and this weekend/beginning of next week an overview of the winning pictures of all 20 comps.

I feel sorry to abandon this very well running photography comp.Cotterik will takeover from me from next week.I will still try to enter as much as possible.

While resting from a long walk on a ledge, i saw this swan floating around. It couldn't have been on a better time. I tried some pictures sitting on the ledge, but they all had the ledge itself in the image. Then i hung a bit more over it, trying some shots. This was the only one without the ledge on it out of 20 pictures :D Definitely one of my favorites of all time;)

Did he made it to the other side or just drowned? :D
Look at his face. He wasn't sure he'd make it. :)

No he made it, his ears allowed him to catch an updraft and soar safely to the ground on the other side :p.
Which is a good thing for him, because he's somewhat of a sook when it comes to water :D.

He wasn't so lucky at another part of the stream, tried to cross without judging the depth well, and ended up with a face full of water just like yours :p.

that's more than just standing there for 15sec too.

i had my external flash in hand, clicked the shutter cord, ran to the left, POP, ran behind the camera to the right, POP. that way the tower was lit up without a dark side or shadows. as well, with a flash mounted on the camera, the tree branches hanging in front of the camera would be too bright.

the picture would be a lot better if you had the base of the tower in the pic IMO

i completely agree, but by current suck-ass tripod couldn't handle the weight of my camera when in portrait orientation. otherwise i couldn't back up any further before i'd be standing in the adjacent cemetary. i took a few in portrait orient but they're all blurred a bit from just the slightest drop of the tripod head.

i'm now borrowing a much better Bogen tripod until i buy a new one of my own.
