You're right. I don't blame them, I blame us. We elected an oil man as president - twice. Conspicuous consumption is a virtue here. We can't see beyond the tip of our nose and don't care about tomorrow so long as we can fill the tanks on our Hummers today.

But my comment stands. We need to see where our money is going. We need to think about the people in THIS country who can't afford to drive to work (or heat our homes) while a few families in Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf nations have so much cash they can't get rid of it fast enough.

It's just sad.

There was summat like that when I was working up at Silverstone Circuit a little while ago (not, unfortunately, as a racing drive I might add) and they had a BRDC track day on. So basically, it's all the rich racing drivers razzing their road (and race cars) around the GP loop. There was some real nice metal there. Some that I can remember:

A mental Chevron summat
Carrera GT

An old VECTA Challenge Cosworth (mental)
A beautifully turned out MK1 Escort

The list goes on and on. I wanna be part of the 'other world'. Ya know, the one where money's only a problem because you don't know what to do with it all.
