Mr Smooth, Jense is not

He may be known as something of a ladies' man, but Jenson Button has launched an astonishing attack on women drivers.
According to the BAR driver (who has yet to register a race win from 100 starts) women shouldn’t even bother entering F1 because if their boobs don’t keep them out of the cars, their monthly cycle will prevent them finishing races.

Asked by lads' magazine FHM what he thought of ladies such as US race ace Danica Patrick wanting to entering F1, Button said: "Danica is very quick."

"But in F1 cars I can't see it happening due to the G-force in fast corners."

And that's where Jense should have closed his mouth.

However, he didn’t...

"And one week of the month you wouldn't want to be on the circuit with them, would you?"

"A girl with big boobs would never be comfortable in the car."

"And the mechanics wouldn't concentrate. Can you imagine strapping her in?"

Not his brightest moment...

lol, what an eejit

I guess Mr. Button did not push the button to start his cerebral engine before the interview... But I think that wouldn't have been the only engine failure with BAR this season...;)

That or they got him drunk. Or both.

Another theory: Right before the interview he was told that he will be replaced by Ms. Patrick next year...

he was the one who think dirty, not the mechanic. a pro mechanic will surely act as a pro too.

I think his lack of success in F1 makes him feel insecure about being replaced by woman....maybe someone like Katharine Legge can give JB a run for his money....

Despite the fact that Jenson Button is one of the top four drivers in Formula 1 (a list which, incidentally, consists of M Schumacher, Alonso, Raikkonen & Button but soon to include Nico Rosberg but never Valentino Rossi) he still hasn't been given a championship winning car by his team.

On the subject of women in F1, shut up Jenson. For the love of God shut up. Personally I can't see it (women in F1) happening for the only serious reason he gave (I guess the others were jokes) about G-Forces.

It's full of "lads" articles.

Well I found it amusing - I'm with Matra. I'm sure he didn't mean it - it was an interview with a lads mag and he was having a laugh! :)

Anyway, he's not wrong about the forces involved, etc. It's much more strenuous than any other kind of racing. There has been a female F1 driver before (as I recall - test driver for Tyrell?) and she didn't last 5 minutes. Not much you can do about the physical differences between men and women.

I think you're right. But what does this mean?:
"A girl with big boobs would never be comfortable in the car." What about guys with big balls?
Oh, I know, they need to empty them before a race... :D

Ever so true, I found this sticker on the rear window of a Jaguar E-Type Lightweight, that participated in the Tour Auto earlier this

The boobs comment tells of a very casual interview. When put in print it looks like some chauvinist. I've never heard JB talk smack he's always very diplomatic and PC.

At the risk of sounding a little biased. Where are all the great F1 female drivers? The 21st century isn't so backward as to not let them compete? It is a male dominated sport. Imagine a guy trying to break into synchronized swimming. What will be said about him?

I quite agree with you, but It's not what he said, but rather how he said it. Argh, Media

Somethings most men are better at. I know some girls who would like to do nothing more then go to a car show and are better drivers then there bf's. But as an all out race car driver na there not fit for that. But i do think girls who know about cars is hott.

a fine issued by who exactly?

Maybe he is just "swinging the other way?" I have nothing against that. It's just that what man wouldn't want to have an F1 driver for a wife. It's like the ultimate turn-on. Go race chicks :D
