i figure at least SOME people would be happy with this one, if it were in production instead of its' original. [high resolution images] :D
--comments appreciated.:D [original on right, chop on left]

I guess were gonna be even now but it honestly looks a bit low, unless you were intending it to be that way. :p I like it though.

what r u talkin about:confused: the rear ones are.. but i dunno what u mean by they're not complete?
edit--nm, i see it .. i'll fix it ;) -- this is kind of a midway point in the chop-- i plan on doing some other effects to it, but this is it as far as bodywork goes.

the rear wheel is inteded to be wide & have some sidewall because of the "huge amt. of hp & torque" i imagine this car to have ;) [kind of a dragster look i guess?]

wow, thats pretty damn sweet!
perhaps you should reduce how much you lowered it, and get some new wheels - that would make it look even better

i did a chop top, i lengthened the nose by 4" [relatively], SRT-8 foglights, shaker hood, sidescoop rear curve, quad-coupe style doors[like an rx8/ion], sideskirt, rear bumper detail, new grille/headlights, molded bumpers, hood reshaping, dropped to the ground, smaller rear views.. i'm not done yet, so y'all know.. :)

edit--if there's something more i cant remember it offhand. also, as far as it being dropped, consider it a concept car.. [they're all dropped pretty low]

lol @ 2 thuggish.. [have u seen the 300C?]

Hi Suzq044, nice chop! I don't mean to burst in, but I saw you chopping away and it looked like fun, so I chopped a bit too and here's the result. It's basically what the Charger would've looked like if it was up to me...

thats amazing dcsbeemer. ur a master at ps.

What's up with the wheels? It seems blurry?

dcsbeemer
11-07-2005, 01:11 AM
Thanks TVR IS KING, compliment appreciated.

Forever92, yeah the wheels are a bit out of focus unfortunately. I took the wheels from Mitsu's X concept (which was 800x600), then tried to fit it to the Charger (which was 1600x 1200). I resized the Charger to 800x600, but still the wheels were blurry, especially after resizing and rotating.

I'll try to get some better wheels on their soon though. :)

Forever92
11-07-2005, 01:14 AM
Ok, that's cool. So, do you take the Whole wheel or just the rim? If the whole wheel how do cut it out of the car?

dcsbeemer
11-07-2005, 01:21 AM
I usually just take the rim. It's a biatch to make it fit exactly 100% on the original tyre, but Gimp has some nice features which makes it a bit easier.
Sometimes I just take the whole shabang, rim and tyre. I zoom in as much as I can, select what I want with a "point-to-point" selection tool, copy, resize, rotate and in Gimp's case, change the perspective and presto...
If you're lucky it fits neatly in place, otherwise back to searching for something better (as I'll have to do with this Charger's wheels).

Forever92
11-07-2005, 01:34 AM
Ok, so what if you take rims that are flat and them fit the perspective of the car? I guess my question is if you do that how do you avoid the "flatness" problem?

dcsbeemer
11-07-2005, 02:08 AM
That's a good question! I'm not really sure about that one, since my Charger's rear-wheels are also a bit flat, but I'm guessing you could stretch the middle-portion to the inside, copy the outer part of the rim and paste it over the stretched portion. It's not ideal, but it's what I would do...

Forever92
11-07-2005, 02:47 AM
...but I'm guessing you could stretch the middle-portion to the inside....

Ahh.. interesting, I might have a way to do that too. :D

I'll get back to you on how it works out, thanks for the help! :D

Sorry, got one more question for ya... how do you get rid of the aliasing like in my avatar, around the perimeter of it? Thanks again. :)

dcsbeemer
11-07-2005, 02:57 AM
Sure thing man, I'm no pro myself but I'll help (or at the very least try to) where ever I can. :)
About the aliasing, I'd take a blur-tool which has an adjustable size and just blur it out... Worked for me before.

Here's an update:

dcsbeemer
11-07-2005, 07:26 AM
OK, here's my absolute final version. Shortened the chassis, added some kit, SRT10 rims, true coupe shell, darker grille, bigger intake etc.

suzq044
11-07-2005, 11:44 AM
u should've gone to the high-res section and looked up the GTS-R concept.. they would've given u much cleaner wheels.

dcsbeemer
11-07-2005, 01:20 PM
Thanks for the advice Suzq044. I took the SRT10 coupe's wheels this time, but that rear-wheel keeps blurring way too much...

suzq044
11-07-2005, 02:51 PM
if the wheel is too small, sometimes the best thing to do is to make the car smaller ;)

dcsbeemer
11-07-2005, 11:21 PM
Yeah, I tried it too, but the problem here is that the wheel isn't at quite the right-angle. The front is not a problem, but the rear one is giving me problems... I dunno, maybe it's just the graphical app I'm using that doesn't have enough power or something.

Forever92
11-07-2005, 11:23 PM
Just to let you guys know... I had a bit of inspiration and did this (http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/showpost.php?p=421214&postcount=111) instead of a PS version for now. :D

dcsbeemer
11-07-2005, 11:34 PM
That looks seriously sweet Forever92!
Man, the people better watch out for when your PS skills become as good as your drawing skills! Not that your PS sucks or anything, but sheesh that drawing hits the spot!

http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/8500/lol4fp.gif Yeah, at the moment I seemed to be possessed when it comes to drawing because usually I suck, especially the wheels. Suzq, looking forward to it because it will help me to figure out how to color it too. :p
