Lotus have announced updates to the Elise/Exige model line for the 2006 model year. A lot of the updates seem to have been previewed in the limited edition Elise 'Sportsracer' announced a few weeks ago, like the LED lights, lightweight pedal box, traction control etc(http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame.php?file=car.php&carnum=2517 ).

There is now a much more extensive options list for the Elise 111r, including things like Exige-style adjustable suspension, traction control and limited slip differential. However the thing that'll grab the most attention is the introduction of CUP HOLDERS on the 'Super Touring Pack' Elise!!! *shudders*

Colin Chapman must be turning in his grave at the thought of cup holders in a lightweight Lotus!

My personal choice of the options would be an Elise 111r with the 'Super Sports Pack'. Basically you get a full Exige chassis and tyre setup with the lighter and much prettier (IMO) body of the Elise. You don't get the downforce of the Exige but I'd happily trade that for the better looks and soft-top of the Elise. :)

I'd probably get it in a nice, classy Titanium Silver. (I hope Santa's reading this! :p)

Hmmm, it was there a minute ago. Crafty buggers at Pistonheads must have some kind of pic theft protection device!

It was a pic of a nice titanium silver Elise FYI. :)

Well technically in the UK you aren't legally allowed to eat or drink ANYTHING whilst you are in control of an automobile, so NOBODY should need cupholders.

Strangely you are allowed to smoke whilst driving, which doesn't make a damn bit of sense to me. You can be prosecuted for eating a Mars bar whilst driving, yet you're allowed to sit there with a naked flame, lighting up a 'cancer stick' behind the wheel.

I suppose if the Government have their way I guess your car will be the ONLY place you can legally smoke soon enough! :p

yeah. coming up to a corner following another car. That 02s faster time equates to about 30 FEET. As you'll often come up with a gap of 5-6 feet then knowing earlier helps :D Makes the braking zone a little bit safer
